You've destroyed your midfield. Completely. Bale is the jinx of the draft.

Why did you not go for busquets/alonso? You really need a defensive midfelder behind those two as I cant really recall them ever playing without one and I dont think albertini's defensive game was that good.
Disagree, I am sure Bale could make a great winger in a 4-4-2.

Excellent. Albertini is defensively sounder than Pirlo, to whom he's often compared - more natural defensive fibres in Demetrio - and he positively laughs at Biscuits when it comes to passing the ball. Xavi's one "weakness" is that he's not really a long ranger, not the sort to place long pinpoint passes for runners to get at. Well, Albertini is precisely that. For my money that is an absolutely brilliant trio in a 4-3-3 - top of the line in every position.
I couldn't get either of them to meet a criteria. I thought as much about Albertini's defensive game, i just wanted to see peoples opinions on it.
Edit- but now Chesty is making me not sure what to do.
Bollocks. His defensive game was excellent for the role he played.
To be honest it gives me options anyway as Iniesta could always move to the left and Xavi could move a bit further forward in the role he played for the Spain.
