It’s a good job the club acted as fast as it did or he’d be staying. No one in Europe is going to want that.
Last hurrah for Ronaldo, the only thing he could do to boost his legacy for the past few years was to have a good World Cup and it’s been a failure.
No knockout goals in the World Cup and only 8 goals from 22 games. Hat-trick against Spain was the only iconic moment from five editions of them, and he’s only scored 5 goals in the other 21, for a player that relies on goal scoring to compared to the greats. A strike rate of only 0.36 goals per game in World Cup games is poor.
At the end of the day it’s the World Cup that matters, it’s the only time the best players in the world come together. So his international career cannot be compared to many other greats.
He'd make David Brent look normal and humbleWith all his money he doesn't need to do anything but his love for the spotlight I'd think he do a Mourinho and be a manager, probably not a good one mind
He’ll buy into a club. My friend has a theory that he wanted out of United because he was investing into us with the new owners. With all his money he doesn't need to do anything but his love for the spotlight I'd think he do a Mourinho and be a manager, probably not a good one mind
Feck that, and feck him.I'm happy he is gone from United and that Morocco are through. However I can't not feel something when I see him cry after his last WC game ever. I think as fans, it's healthier not to just be about hatred when it comes to all things Ronaldo related basically.
He's too self absorbed to be a manager, he will just promote his brand and legacy. With all his money he doesn't need to do anything but his love for the spotlight I'd think he do a Mourinho and be a manager, probably not a good one mind

Anything interesting in this concerning his exit? Was it Ronaldo who cleared-out the locker or club?

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed it. I just don't feel any extra joy seeing him crying tbh. He is completely inconsequential to meHa! Nope! Enjoyed Portugals exit immensely.
Yup. I can see him calling it quits on his career. He's not the type to go to Saudi and his career dwindle into irrelevance. He'd sooner retire I think. I'd imagine he's done with the national team and is done with top level European football. I think he's going to retire. The moment came for him when Bruno played him down the outside and he smashed it straight at the Morocco keeper.
Lets be frank, its been a disastrous month for Ronaldo.
In his mind he probably thought he could force his way out of United, have a sparkling World Cup and then have the pick of elite teams after proving he's back.
In reality, he got dropped from Portugal's starting XI because of his poor performances and nobody will be knocking down his door after we've seen.
He's cut himself adrift and for what..? He may even have to watch Messi lift the World Cup next weekend. What a way to go out.
I particulary liked the unexpected presser he turned up for, to tell the media how dare they make it all about him. Utter sideshowMaybe I'm reading into things. But Ronaldo leaving on his own right at the final whistle says it all about him. Maybe if he was more of a team spirit figure, Portugal would've been better off? You win as a team, lose as a team. With ronaldo, it's all about him. Can't clap the fans off, can't sit with the team, just fecks off on his own.

'the records chase me'
'the records chase me'
Agreed. The modern fandom's obsession of rabidly taking the side of a player that doesn't even know they exist and bashing any competitors is extremely weird to me.I'm happy he is gone from United and that Morocco are through. Thanks; I thought that must've been the case. The club didn't know the interview was happening so it was Ronaldo
Pretty shit way to end a carrier...
Maybe he'll learn to be humble for once. Euro 2024 is still within his reach.
