Arsenal (a)
Brentford (h)
Brighton (a)
Chelsea (h)
Palace (a)

Liverpool (a)

As we're a team that could score a goal against Watford or more than 1 against Championship Boro every game looks tough for us
The problem is they can wipe out 3 of those fixtures and they are still above us.
Even if they lose to Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and even us they will still be above us if we lose to Liverpool as expected!

I think we'll finish 4th if we beat them at the Emirates.

Enough banana peels in there for both teams even beyond the games against City and Pool

We should be winning our next 3. No excuses. We win at Arsenal and they will be start to wobble.
Whether we score or not depends entirely on Ronaldo's form, which, barring a miracle, will run hot and cold for the rest of the season. So, I expect him to have one or two Watford performances for every Brighton/Spurs performance.

Arsenal will be comfortably ahead of us by the end of the season.

And Arsenal has played all season without a (motivated and/or prolific) center forward, let’s be honest. We play with 10 men.
Guardiola’s style.

Ive long been convinced we would finish 4th. The turn around has been immense and the quality offered by Saka, Odegaard and Martinelli is really underappreciated. Stable at the back with a keeper to bail is out when the opposition makes a good effort on goal. Xhaka and Partey doing well together, breaking up the play and and playing the roles of statesmen given all 20-23 year olds around them The team has a togetherness and plays for each other. No passengers, no slackers, no dressing room cliques or alliances. Arteta has built a proper environment and has vindicated his treatment of PEA.

I dont care how intimidating your team looks on paper when you mix and match Ronaldo, Rashford, Cavani, Pogba, Bruno, De Gea, Varane. Although Gary Neville seems to think a list of player names is something to marvel at. One of the reasons I think we have such a commanding position, is because of this reverence Man United pay to a players reputation. Contrast to Arteta, who shipped out PEA despite him signing a recent mega deal. Arteta has relegated our record signing (Pepe) behind two academy lads (Saka and ESR) as well as a 6m signing from Brazils 4th division (Martinelli). Backed himself to sign Ramsdale when people were openly mocking the decision, apparently 25m was crazy to pay for a Sheffield United GK. Still opposition fans still say 'its only Arteta'. When the truth is Arteta is turning into a seriously good manager with a no nonsense reputation and a clear direction of how he wants to play. Reputations dont mean anything to Arteta, where at present Man United, reputation seems to be the primary factor in team selection. Big reputations Man United have given by virtue of the massive transfer fees paid for the player, and/or massive wages paid to player.

'Lego Pep', could very well indeed turn into Pep2.0

At Arsenal we don’t buy superstars. We make them.
It was our identity and we missed it with the tranfers of Ozil, Sanchez and Aubamayang.

Succes of Liverpool or City has never being achieved with big names.

So many failures for Arsenal with former Chelsea players for example: Gallas, Benayoun, William, etc.
We need to buy unknow players but who have the qualities and are eager to succeed.

Give us 300.000 euro and let’s buy some Gael Clichy players-like again

You were doing alright until that last sentence :D

Are people still believing we can get top 4?

Mathematically yes but in reality no chance. We would need to win all 9 games to have a chance and hope Arsenal lose 3 or more. They will drop some points but so will we, that is inevitable.

Fair play with the optimism though.
If we beat them we might have a slight chance. It’s not completely out of reach.

They've got something like 25 points from the last 10 games, making them the most "in form" Team in the league
We really need them to get battered by Liverpool and hopefully lose some momentum.

If it was a matter of United had the points advantage, but Arsenal had the games in hand...then it would still be slightly interesting.

But Arsenal have more points than United and 3 games in hand...which makes the final stages of the "race" more of a stroll for Arsenal.

Plus United are not able to go on a long winning streak either so any fan that likes to celebrate the Top 4 Cup will have to wait until next season.

We've had momentum for 15 months now. PPG the past 15 months:

Man City: 129 Points in 52 games - 2.48

Liverpool: 104 in 52 games - 2
Arsenal: 98 in 50 games - 1.96
Chelsea: 101 in 52 games - 1.94

United: 95 in 53 games 1.79
West Ham: 92 in 53 games - 1.74
Spurs: 82 in 51 games - 1.61

This includes the first 3 games of this season where we barely had a fit squad. Yet, people are just stuck on this mindset that we're always just in a short term run of form.

What ? You couldnt pick 3 worst examples if you tried. Each one of them brought us a lot in their own way and were adored by the fans. Great players and the way they left doesn't take anything away from it.
You need a mix of youth and ready made stars, i can't imagine how much darker the atmosphere could have been during that period without them.

I am not sure if you are serious. Sanchez was a great success for us. Ozil and Auba were great for the first couple seasons as well. I would not say no to Neymar, Mbappe or Haaland in Arsenal if they are willing to join. I would want Ashley Cole instead of Clicky in the team as well. In reality it is more like we can't afford superstars with the wages they are asking.

And this is why Arsenal fans are the worst, finishing 4th for the first time in half a decade and they'd have you believe we're witnessing the next invincibles

Who's said that? The guy with the Sanchez post was wumming probably. What else is incorrect?

This thread does not fail to make me laugh over the last 6 weeks.

Never seen a fanbase so pleased with a potential 4th place. I think you'd get more humility on a West ham forum if they got it.

Anyway, ten years of Arsenal domination it is.

Club fans happy to get back into the CL after missing out for years and finally seeing some development.

Oh, na I tell you what let's just be upset by it instead.

What a daft post.

I think most fans are happy to see progression this season and the football is more pleasing to watch. 4th place/CL or not doesn't matter. There is no guarantee for that 4th place trophy next season as Man Utd fans really really want it.

I haven't seen one Arsenal fan even hint at us being able to compete for the league etc next year, but some of the posts you read make it seems like we're the next coming.

Progression is all we want to see. If we get top 4 this season great. Next year it would be great to do so again but compete for a trophy too, and build from there.

When Klopp and Pep leave, and our younger players develop further, you never know with the right signings, but that's a few years off.

As I've pointed out a few times, why are you surprised by an element of hostitlity on a Utd forum?

You've been decent the last 6 weeks, is that what you want to hear to sleep better at night?

You yourself posted a stat that your PPG is only bettered by the top 3

There was an absolute cringe fest of a post by @GoonerInPeace as well

Ah yes, the last 15 months table winners 21/22, Arsenal FC*

*(not including Man City and Liverpool).

Watching Arsenal/Liverpool is the going the most bamboozling game to watch as a United fan.

Not really. I'd take a draw but otherwise its an Arsenal win all day, every day.

Nothing will ever beat that Manchester Derby a few years back. That was grim.

So? My point was that this isn't a 10 game run of form, as many keep saying. (I also said that in the post..)

Did I say we were suddenly going to win the title or get into the top 4 every year etc etc?

Not surprised, just bizarre though how people just completely make things up to make themselves feel better.

You tell me what you're trying to say? You take exception to people saying Arsenal are in a good run by posting a stat that apparently says you've been the 4th best team in the country for over a year but now you're taking exception to me questioning what you're insinuating by posting that so I say again you tell me what you're trying to say?

Yuh, essentially us and West Ham have nine games left to win 4 more games than arsenal. It doesn’t actually make any sense.
Im sure Sky will keep pushing it as a ‘top four race’. When in reality it’s a formality.

I literally just did..

I'll say it again.

My point is this isn't a 10 game run of form, this is a longer period where we've been this consistent.

That is it, nothing more. I'm not saying we'll win the title next year. I'm saying we've been consistent for a while and to me it shows good progress. We'll still have to battle to finish top 4 this year, and next year, but this isn't a random purple patch.

I think we'll finish 4th if we beat them at the Emirates.

Enough banana peels in there for both teams even beyond the games against City and Pool
So after the game between united Arsenal on the 23rd and assuming Liverpool beat Arsenal and united beat Arsenal on the 23rd, Arsenal will be on 63 pts with a game at hand and united will be on 62. This is assuming they both win all of their other games of course. I think this is the best United can hope for. That Villa match could be huge since Villa are home against Arsenal.

Our rearranged fixture vs Liverpool has been moved to Tuesday 19th April, we then play Arsenal on Saturday 23rd April.

The Liverpool game is a free hit, they are on another level in terms of squad and consistency. That's the level any club would like to achieve, this is a good test for youngsters and I would be happy with a good performance and not losing by 4-0. We still lack 3-4 good first-team players including a striker and it would be helpful to get some good names if we finish top-4.

I just check the remaining fixture for Arsenal there are no easy game except may be Brighton and Southampton. The last three games against Leeds, Newcastle and Everton are very difficult too as Leeds and Everton need points to avoid relegation. It is way too early to talk about 4th place and it is always one game at a time.

United don't even deserve top 4. They have played like chumps the entire season. While City and Liverpool breeze through the competition, Chelsea and Arsenal play with gumption and valor. United struggle to beat or draw with bottom table teams and I don't see any way out of this stupor going forward. They will finish 5th to 7th and deservedly so. I'm so amazed that the core of players coming off 3rd and 2nd place finishes in the last two seasons can barely qualify for Europe and have looked like shite for most every game this season. Oh and they'll be out of Champions in about 50 hours. Pathetic.
U OK hun? x
How are you feeling about now? Stupid? Unrealistic?

So for this to be theoretically plausible we'll need them to lose tonight, lose one, draw one, lose to us, and for us to win all our games. And Spurs to be Spursy.
