Alex Turner is a fecking amazing lyricist and Matt Helders is one of the best drummers in rock.

Swap Kasabian with Biffy, Biffy fecked it up when they went all Pirates of the Carribean.

That said, they are so fecking boring to watch live. Most uninspired bunch of musicians I've ever seen on a stage. Really disappointing, because I very much like their music

I'll give Elbow my vote, don't know why.

I wanted to say Radiohead but on reflection of the albums released during that period I'm going with Muse. Elbow had 4 decent albums as well.

The more commercial bands usually win these polls though.

Anyway, thanks for voting, keep them coming.

Biased me says Idlewild...

Unbiased me probably says Muse or Radiohead.

Also, The Doves are probably worth a shout somewhere.

Arctic Monkeys simply for their debut album. As far as more up tempo rock goes, no album has hit me quite like that.

They were never able to reach those heights afterwards as far as I'm concerned, but they're still a great band. I quite liked Alex Turner's solo effort that was featured in the movie Submarine as well.

I've seen Arctic Monkeys 3 times, two times in Norway and one in Germany. The first time was right after their debut album, and that concert was ok, at least they looked like they gave it a try. But the last two times, they have just showed up and pretty much played through their set list without any energy or enthusiasm. Definitely best on the stereo in my opinion.

They seem to have changed in the last year or so, may be it's the quiff, or breaking up with Alexa Chung or laying off drugs. But they seem to actually give a shit this tour.
