The bad (typically gun related) things happening in America thread

Kid who committed murder in my district: 12
Kid who died in my district: also 12

When I was 12 my biggest concern was if my little league team would win our baseball game that evening. Unbelievable

Working overtime last night a couple of blocks away. The scene was ridiculous. Bodies everywhere.

At this point are you numb to these scenes or is it something that still gets you hard? I can’t imagine the crap you guys have to see.

On scene I’m usually able to push it down and try and do what’s needed. A lot of times you don’t have the time to process it on scene. It’s usually when you get home and you’re trying to get to sleep that things come back up. This had way too many moving parts with the victims, the crowd getting unruly, trying to coordinate with different agencies etc.

This was right after a shooting in Dallas at an outdoor concert too, and I’m expecting this will probably have some kind of retaliation in the area, so it should be a busy summer.

Was the shooting gang related?

I don’t believe they’ve said so definitively, and it could be an entirely random event. With how things usually seem to go around here though, I’d be surprised if it didn’t end up being targeted in some way.
Random shootings is such a mad thing, I mean at least with targeted shootings there's a purpose, it might be a criminal purpose but at least there's a cognitive purpose.

Yeah we even have gang related shootings in Denmark. What we don't have are road rage incidents and the like turning into shooting galleries.

Had almost that exact incident last week. Guy got called in for flashing his firearm at someone over a lane merging issue. Found him, holstered up with one in the chamber, and his 2 year old in the back seat.

“COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — South Carolina has scheduled its first execution after corrections officials finished updating the death chamber to prepare for executions by firing squad.

The clerk of the State Supreme Court has set a April 29 execution date for Richard Bernard Moore, a 57-year-old man who has spent more than two decades on death row after he was convicted of killing convenience store clerk James Mahoney in Spartanburg.”

What's the reasoning for going back to firing squads?
