During South Carolina’s lengthy debate, Democratic state Sen. Dick Harpootlian — a prosecutor-turned-criminal-defense lawyer — introduced the firing squad option. He argued that it presented “the least painful” execution method available.
“The death penalty is going to stay the law here for a while,” Harpootlian said. “If we’re going to have it, it ought to be humane.”
I’d like to point out… the SC legislator that suggested firing squad is a Democrat.
Bring back the guillotine then, clean and fastI abhor the death penalty, but if it is going to happen I guess if the marksman is good I would agree I would take it over the chair and lethal injection. Seriously though, if you are advocating for humane why not tape a shaped charge to the back of the head and set it off? Or better yet how about we get away with this barbarism. #christianvalues

That always amazes me.It was last used in France in 1977, so more recently than the firing squad (except Utah, which used it once in 1996) in the states!
It's weird some of the things people consider Humane.Humane? I hope they at least give the prisoners some heroin before pumping them full of hot lead.

Is that a new clarification? Because the law states…Having read into this more, it looks like abortions for ectopic pregnancies will be legal if performed in hospital by a doctor or qualified medical professional. The law is against, shall we say “self-administered” or “amateur” abortions.
It’s not quite as horrific as headlines would suggest. Personally I don’t know anyone who WOULDN’T go to a doctor for this (barring stated driving out doctors who perform them, or the obvious cost).

Amusing when one considers the Missouri state motto: The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law.
