The 2010 Baseball Thread

I do love a smash and grab win, if Hughes can give us a nice start next time out then its looking good.

Rumour has it Zack Grienke is on the market in trades, that's going to be interesting.

Haha what a choke job by Texas, the Yankees should win this series easily as should Philly theres, could be a good WS between the past two winners, with Philly being favorites

Phillies vs Yankees. Couldn't think of anything I'd rather watch less.

And I won't.

had to attend a wedding so i missed the game. from what i understand washington should never have taken wilson out of the game. he was getting the yankees out. washington has over-thought the bullpen plenty of times this season. if a guy's getting people out leave him alone. gave that one away. maybe the yankees will return the favor.

Why he did not bring in Feliz once it looked bad is more puzzling? What's he saving him for, the save stat?

Anyone got stream for the game that doesn't require sopcast or tvants etc?

7-2 Rangers

now that's more like it! battered them all game long, much like yesterday, but without the meltdown inning.

Wasn't quite up to scratch in all areas today, but 3 straight in Bronx even if we do face Cliff Lee I like our chances.

Another shitty ump. Strike zone is all over the place.

Good news for the Giants, though. Lincecum hasn't thrown his slider yet. I'm sure it will make an appearance soon.

I so love it when Philly teams lose.

Get used to it. Now comes our lefty and the Phillies big hitters are shit against lefties.

Could actually go back to SF 0-2. They are in a must win situation in the 2nd game. Gotta love it for a team that was basically penciled in to the WS by everyone alive.

The little secret no one has talked about is the Giants success against Halladay and Oswalt.

Um, they always bring it up on those stupid ESPN shows actually and it's brought up on the commentary enough.

Oh horseshit. Baseball tonight, everywhere, Phillies were penciled in. It's like a Phillies jerk off festival.

Well maybe on Baseball Tonight, that's not shown here, but the stupid ones like PTI, Around The Horn, Sportscenter, they all brought it up, and if the idiots on that show who aren't exclusive Baseball people brought it up, I would of thought a show exclusive to Baseball would of brought it up....my mistake, keep forgetting ESPN are idiotic.

Every postseason win Lee's salary goes up a million. We started at 18m per year and probably going to 21m per year now. The dude is sick! If he gets to the 24-25m mark, the Rangers will probably be the champions of MLB.

Cliff Lee is a monster.

Girardi really should go with CC in game 4 - we can't afford to go down 3-1 which is likely to be the case if Burnett takes the hill. If you've got an ace who has proven time and time again that he can handle 3 days rest, you should use it to your advantage.

omfg cliff lee.

that was a raping, and whenever I can that about a yankees loss, I'm delighted.

The series hinges on good AJ or bad AJ, I don't like our chances.

Hopefully Bumgarner can keep up the quality starts and gets it to the bullpen with a lead in game four. That way Lincecum can pitch the Giants into the World Series on Thursday.

Way to go San Fran.

No come on Rangers. Three out of five times you'll get a shit start from Burnett, the other two split from decent to good. Let's hope it's one of those shit nights for him. Quite possibly the most overrated, overpriced free agent ever. Although Chan Ho Park was really shit for Texas. But I blame that on a management that hadn't a clue about free agency versus a club that's simply hell bent on buying every top player available to keep them from top competitors.

That was a bogus call. The fat feck in the stands (left of Cruz) clearly pushed Cruz's glove although it was after the ball had gone over the fence. But the guido in the Yankees shirt (right of Cruz) was well over the wall and interfered with Cruz's ability to make a play. It should have been an out. Not as obvious as the call in '96 but if MLB is going to have extra umps in the OF, you'd expect them to get the calls right.

Right after that the same ump (or perhaps home plate or firs base ump) ruled a foul ball fair and awarded a homerun to Berkman, that thankfully was overturned by replay. It was a close call but you could see a few Texas fans signaling foul while the Yankee fans were saying fair. Comical.

Does not make sense to me why the Cano homerun couldn't be reviewed. I really believe umps are influenced in hostile environments like Fenway Park, Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium.

And to illustrate how stupid NY fans can be, they're cheering on the guys that interfered with Cruz and booing and chanting 'Asshole' to the guy that interfered with Gardner.

Why so serious? :nervous:

Rangers answered with 2 runs and Jeter and Granderson tie it up

I'm not actually being so serious. I just don't find it funny. A lot of room in the middle there.

At some point, after years of watching the Yankees get bullshit calls in the playoffs, one gets bored of it.

That being said, I want the Yankees to move on because they are clearly the weaker team.
