Tennis 2024

Wonder what the cut off is in Paris? It's 1:30 and if they play another 2 sets it's likely to take another two hours.

Surely there is none with all the delays? Can't still be playing third round well into the Sunday.

I'd put this match off after the second and just put it back on to see Novak 5-2 down in the third. I wasn't expecting that.

Rafa vs Sinner till around 130am was the record prior to this so they've beaten it already!

Djokovic 2-1 down. Would be a good time to put some money on the Novak win right now

Isn't Musetti the fellow who lost to Novak after going up 2 sets some years ago here?

Yeah, up 2 sets and ended up retiring in the 5th set.

Djokovic may well come back but it doesn't feel like an inevitability right now.

I think it all depends on how much Novak really wants this, to be honest. He's improved a bit in the last ten minutes but still with just too many errors. I'd still expect Novak's experience to show though.

I've got no doubt he still wants this. I think Musetti might crumble under the pressure but he did well in the tie break and even in the first set, which he lost, he played quite well.

Novak just seems a bit distracted and ever so slightly disinterested these days but yes, I think Musetti will crumble in the fifth. Feel like if he'd gotten taken his chance in the first game of this set and taken the break, Novak might have given up.

Empty seats all around for this epic battle. Paris has disgraced itself tonight.

About to be a double break for Novak. Musetti has collapsed now.

That one mistake when he was up 2-2 40-15 and it's just been downhill since. Hope he can mentally recover for the fifth set.

Great win for Emma Navarro vs Keys. She's been playing great on the lower circuits, good to see her crush it at slams too.

And immediately goes triple set point down and will now serve second in the final set. Not a good few minutes for Musetti.

Musetti lacking energy right now, all gone a bit flat. He could let this slip away quickly.

That's the match right there. I expect Djokovic to be okay for R4 but Cerundolo could make it a bit of a battle which Djokovic will want to avoid.

I did! But I'm not going to lie, I thought he was really done this time even though he does this so many times. He hasn't been his usual self this year. Mussetti played one hell of a match.. well, 4 sets. It's crazy to me that a 37 yr old is outlasting a young guy at 3 in the morning. Absolute legend.

Wow, I didnt watch Griekspoor, but he was 2 breaks up in the 5th?! What a waste...

Traders well and truly clocked onto Novak doing this on purpose, 2.96 highest in play trade, farce.

Left side of the bracket looks great. I could see all 4 games going either way tomorrow. No real upset today (yet) on the other side. Hopefully it will end up in a Sinner vs Alcaraz semi, can't see any of them losing until then.

Sinner immediately broken in the 2nd set, wow

I guess it was a combination of an unknown rival and the crowd. Order was restored quickly after that break.

Yeah that was light work. Bit of a strange figure Moutet, played pretty unpredictable and fun but he didn't have the tools to really match Sinner.

That's Moutet in a nut shell. I think for a lot of the top players he's never really going to challenge them for more than a set or two.

Maybe if they start providing him his coffee he one day will!

Damn, just tuned in, what happened to Novaks knee?

Cerundolo finally gets the break and with it, he takes the set. Cerundolo is 1/13 on break points. Even if he keeps it up and Djokovic looks a bit out of sorts, he has to improve his conversion rate otherwise he'll lose.

I think Cerundolo can keep this level up. In the previous round, Musetti (and Djokovic) were playing at a higher level. Maybe I'm being harsh on Cerundolo but this is more about Djokovic's level dropping (I didn't see the first set or the supposed injury) than an unsustainable level being played by Cerundolo.

The match feels quite flat right now, even though Cerundolo is now a break up in the third.

Novak is clearly moving with some difficulties. Should throw the towel to the ground and save his health to compete in Wimbledon before the injury aggravates.

Agree, he really should just retire from this match. Can't even serve properly

Do we really still fall for this? He's dead on his feet in every match before ending as fresh as a 24 year old.
