Tennis 2023

I’ll take any wins for RF I can get

But this was a genuine star is born moment. It’s fine winning a GS it’s another beating a great in the final at the biggest stage of them all in Wimbledon. At 20, he’s got some career in front of him.
This kid is very very special. Actually there was an interview with him when he was very young and he reckoned he played like Roger

Yep, the kid has the game, weapons on both wings, aggressive, comes to the net, get a bit more variation on his serve and he is going to be hard to beat for a long time.

Yup I saw that. Although I don’t really see it tbh.

Hes basically Nadal in terms of freak young players isn’t he? Nadal was a Gs winner at 19 I believe but this kid is more well rounded at the same age

Truly magnificent from the lad. A worthy successor to the throne. Long may he reign. That was the first time I've seen someone with so much mettle and determination against Novak in such a while.
It was like Novak was playing his twin...

Yup, actually Nadal turned 19 just days before that final vs Puerta.

I actually think that he has some qualities from all three of Novak, Roger and Raf imho

It's so rare to see Novak at the end of a heartbreaking loss here at Wimbledon.

Novak is just the most gracious and classy loser there is. His unpopularity never makes sense.

Amazing from Alcaraz especially after that first set. Unreal to do at 20.

He's all right for sure. Gets a hard time from the Wimbledon crowd especially..
I saw a YT video the other day of players applauding their opponents after a good shot at Wimbledon and Djok featured more than anyone else on it. I've always liked him and have never really understood the hate.

Djokovic has got another source of motivation for a few years now.
I think this loss will lengthen his career more than a win would have, honestly. I think he needed motivation and a challenge and he's found that. I really hope these two meet in the USO final because the others are just hopeless.

I don't think the crowd was harsh today actually. There were quite a few Novak chants as well.

Yea he's by far the most gracious player in the tour, which is why I don't get why he antagonizes so many.
Yeah, not that others aren't nice but he has a lot of time for the lower ranked players too and seems to be on very good terms with most of the tour, including WTA.

Becker and Nadal were probably better, but still incredible! What mental strength.

No they weren't. You could allow that up until today, maybe, but even then, I think you're stretching. They may have mastered singular surfaces better, but an all-court sensation who's won 2 Slams neither of which are on his favoured surface.. it's ludicrous levels for 20. If he doesn't win RG next year, I'd be stunned.
