Not looked into this in much detail (maybe I could get a job in Australian Govt?) but…

Travel within 14 days of arrival - that tweet saying every player had. I think the difference is they moved countries as part of their trip to Aus, whereas Djokovic did separate trips?

Signing a form part completed by someone else - if that’s a defence, the world’s screwed.

If Aus were going to boot him out, they’d have done it be now - maybe, just maybe, the Aus Govt/authorities are taking their time to double/triple check their facts and not look like they’re blindly rushing into another decision?

(ps. The photo of him in Serbia on 25th (which is part of “issue” about his travel pre-Aus) shows him posing next to another sportsperson, one week after his +ve test. He really doesn’t give a feck about Cv does he, it’s just an obstacle to circumvent)

All these players have a team of people working for them to figure out what it is they need to do to enter countries etc.

I’d be amazed if all 400 of their teams all blindly let tennis Australia complete their travel documents for them without even one team raising their hand and saying actually this isn’t how to do this.

‘Your honour, I let others do what I should be doing myself legally, so don’t punish me’.

Yeah, not feeling that strategy.

Throughout all this though, you just have to be astounded by the level of incompetence exhibited by all parties involved. Not as if they have unlimited resources relative to the tasks they have to carry out.

I don't think so. Nadal for example was in Abu Dhabi until 19th December, went back to Spain where he tested positive and arrived in Melbourne on 31st Dec.

Quite a few players would had tournaments in one country then gone back home (or wherever their base is) before travelling to Australia.

My Lud I didn't pack my bags and it was done by someone else. It's now a defense for smuggling too? Or filling out and signing a government application form without checking what was on it?

Either look at it in that twitter + following posts - or in the blog that you can find with the link: https://zerforschung.org/posts/djokovic-pcr-test-en/

It shows that something with his certificates must be wrong...

This is such a hilariously fake positive test. Would be a sham if they let him play. Kick him out.

He should've just partied for a few weeks with no mask on, gotten COVID and gotten it out of the way at this point (since he believes he doesnt needs a vaccine anyway).

Quite a lot of detail in that but assuming that thing about seconds elapsed being in a URL code is correct (Caf nerds?) and they're right about ascending test result reference numbers, it looks.... odd (my lawyers said to say "odd").

Australia can go feck themselves if I’m concerned. Strip them of the grand slam and give the 4th slam to Dubai or something.

Definitely not blowing over

Mild compared to what most of us feel. You can't go anywhere that he isn't been discussed and I haven't heard one person with any sympathy for him. Although if my son was home I'd guess I'd meet a few as many of the coaches in his sport are from the Balkans.

#scottyfrommarketing is copping it both barrels from all sides as his government squirms in indecision, with half the cabinet wanting to deport him and half wanting it to just go away (it won't).

What do you think he will do?

Surprised Novak hasn't told his family to shut-up. All their carrying on can only hurt his situation.

You can’t tell anything about this without knowing how IT equipment works in these labs, such baseless acquisitions are just completely unhelpful. Again, it doesn’t even make any sense to fake something like this with his reach in Serbia. He might not have had Covid but everything will be in order with the validity of PCR test.

Novak's mother stating that he wasn't aware he was positive both on the 17th and even 18th then, clearly.

They're really doing him more harm than good. For his sake, they should stop giving pressers and interviews till Novak starts the tournament.

Is Novak the only unvaccinated player in Australia at this point?
Yup, it would seem so. There were some comments from Sousa earlier today who said it was unfair that Novak was the only unvaccinated player and that while there were other players who did not ideally want to be vaccinated, they were "forced" into it in order to participate in the AO. He felt it was unfair that Djokovic gets to be the only way who kind of breaks the rules and gets to play.
