Tennis 2019

Federer’s backhand faulting him today. Seem slightly erratic on the topspin.

Hope he can win this. He’s been better than Djokovic I think.

Sigh. Guess that's it then. Federer has played wonderfully in this match but Djokovic's consistency wins out.

Honestly, Roger trying everything. Varying the play really well, serving solidly. Can't be too disappointed.

These two breakers though he's played so badly. A shame really.

Must be mentally tough for Novak to see Fed serve this incredibly well and to not have any easy points yourself. You have to admire his determination.

Better server, any actual rally and it’s all Djokovic.

What do people make of the level of this match? It's not been bad but far from a classic thus far in my opinion as it hasn't had much drama.

You think Fed has a chance, prof?

This would be the comebacks of all comebacks.
I'm embarrassed to come up with this corker: "He still has a small chance, but big mental blow. And Djokovic must be getting a boost from the fact he's still ahead after playing so badly."

Been better than a lot of recent slam finals to be honest. I mean Thiem and Nadal first set last month was good, but we knew what direction that was heading.

Last great grand slam final was probably Aussie open 2017.

Fed has only himself to blame for playing so poorly when it really matters in a tie break

Only when Federer isn’t winning them

They were brilliant in the first set on Friday.

Tiebreaks are brilliant. What do you want? They serve till they drop in the first set. If that was the case we’d still be here watching Anderson vs Isner from last year.

Crowd is funny, commentators are funny, its actually weird to listen and i just tuned in.

I have barely seen Federer with his backhand in that state (the unforced error magnet side) win matches against Nadal and Djokovic in their primes. Looking dangerous. Djokovic has upped his game enormously.

Hanging in there. Would be ironic if Federer barely makes the tiebreak and then win it. Tables turned.

That much is very true

There’s some supernatural skullduggery going on with Djokovic, stretching and scrambling all the time yet pulling off shots like that one.

That was pathetic service game by Djokovic
Federer will walk this set too now. This match has been Nadal Federer final where latter was second best but won two tie breaks to force a fifth set.

And what a service game to follow.

Let's hope Roger can hold his serve and take us into a 5th. Just one break and Novak is like a brick.
