He’s been “old” for a tennis pro for years. Look at the retirement ages of the guys he replaced in the “greatest ever” arguments. He's been like this for years.
At 12-12 after last year’s travesty. Is there a tiebreak in the fifth set at Wimbledon? Or is that still only introduced at the US Open?
He's a brilliant player. What a man. Whoever wins this, Fed is insane at this age. The @Billy Blaggs of tennis
He’s 38 and in the finals of Wimbledon. Perspective is nice.
That final is underrated because of the 2008 oneThis is another match with a somewhat similar story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_Wimbledon_Championships_–_Men's_singles_final
For all those who say that a footballers legs have gone when they get to their early 30's just look at the brilliant Roger Federer and Justin Gatlin who is 37 and still running below 10 second 100 meters.
That rather boring cliche is clearly rubbish.
Tennis is nothing like football so it's a silly comparison. For all those who say that a footballers legs have gone when they get to their early 30's just look at the brilliant Roger Federer and Justin Gatlin who is 37 and still running below 10 second 100 meters.

Those are not the norm and football is a very different discipline to be fair.
You get less impact injuries playing tennis. It is a different discipline but there are similarities.
The sprint requires acceleration and speed endurance.
Tennis requires acceleration and deceleration and rapid change of direction. It also requires very good aerobic fitness.

What's required during the match is far less running than in football. They also get far less injuries in their career as there's no contact, and they don't need to build up as high a muscle mass. There's no comparison. It's a completely different type of fitness.Perhaps you should think about what a tennis player trains for and what is required during the match.
They're absolutely nothing alike let's be honest.
I am not talking about the game. I am talking about the physical and mental requirements on the body and mind.
