Tennis 2019

Really need Querrey to lose somehow. The guy is almost impossible to break and vs Nadal it'll be a lot of tie breaks and always a chance of an upset there.

Gauff knocked out by Halep. Given she's only 15 I hope she doesn't get put under too much pressure in future slams.

Strange treatment of Novak by Wimbledon yet again. They've put him out on Court 1 for a second match running despite him being #1 and defending champion.
Also, QFs played on Centre Court among the Top 4 :

Murray : 10/10
Federer : 13/15
Nadal : 2/6
Novak : 1/9 :wenger:
When you analyse all those quarterfinals and look at the other QFs on the same day, its no surprise to see him on the other court as there was bigger matches.

Maybe 2013 his match was more appealing but he was on centre court for the first 3 rounds that year.

Also stat is wrong. Its 2/10

Tennys looks really tough to break as well. Though, was broken at least once by Querrey.
Yeah was watching the match for a bit. It's just such terrible tennis. No major quality rallies and just a lot of unreturnable or hard to return serves from both. Do American players not practice anything beyond big serves? These two, Isner over the years and now Opelka. Their ability to churn out giant servebots is unbelievable.

I can't see Tennys being much of a problem. Querrey has at least made a Wimbledon QF and SF.
He's beaten Djokovic and Murray at Wimbledon and is serving extremely well.
And these Querrey and Tennys are in yet another tie break

That tie break was abject. Errors and aces.
Rafa will have a tough match vs Querrey. Going to come down to the lottery of tie breaks.

He has though the circumstances of those wins are important. His Djokovic win came at the start of his major slump and he needed 5 sets to beat a clearly injured Murray in 2017.

Still impressive to make it so far but both Djokovic and Murray were in bad ways for different reasons.

Raonic nearly won that first set without losing a point on his serve. Was 40-0 up as well but Pella got a point to make it 40-15.

Nadal will beat Querrey comfortably IMO.

Might lose a set on a tiebreaker.

Fair play to Konta for delaying her annual panic attack/breakdown by a day or two.

It would be two in a month, I guess that would make up for not having one last year.

The quality of the top three in the men's game cannot be matched in women's tennis but for the first week and a half the women's side is way more interesting than watching the same three trounce everyone and every other man have no chance of winning.

Been a bit boring so far. Maybe Nishikori will give us the 5 set classic, so he can be out of his feet for the quarters. Or Pella makes a comeback.

Looking ok so far, I still think he holds back with some of his forehand. The point at 3-1 0-0, where Berettini passed him, after he refused a easy chance to produce a forehand winner down the line.

The only thing Federer is doing is returning the big serves, and Berettini isn't responding.

With the state of the current field of players Fed can still be challenging in his 40s.

Federer's looked very good today but have to say that Berettini has been rubbish today so far.

Can't decide if Federer has improved his level or Bertetini has been embarrassing. A bit of both probably.

Kei is 2 sets to 1 up as well so yet another easy match in the quarters.

How is this clown a top 20 player? :wenger:
Because he's kind of a rubbish player who has had a decent grass season. He's lost in R1 at pretty much any top level tournament he's played this year. He's got a big serve though which explains why he's had a decent grass season.

Roger playing dreamy tennis:drool:
He's well sharp today.

A player who has fixed the match to lose will put in better effort than this berry berry shrew guy.

Oh Berrettini has a break point

Federer has been good but this has been a really poor showing from Berrettini.
