Don’t know who it favours. Thiem played yesterday but he’s the younger man by 8 years. Nadal is a great athlete but he’s not the super athlete like he was in 2008.

The fact that Thiem has played a lot more Tennis over the past two weeks including a 5 setter v Novak will probably offset any age/fitness advantage he would normally have over Rafa. He's going to have to dig deep to go five sets today.

It's been a fairly close match but not having seen much of Thiem, he doesn't appear to have the tools to really threaten Nadal. For some reason I was under the impression that he had more power to his game in terms of groundstrokes and serve. Just seems to be a lesser version of Nadal with no obvious advantages over the Spaniard.
Next game is the pivotal one this set. Let’s see how Thiem deals with it.
He's been surprisingly defensive. He definitely has the tools and I thought he'd have come out attacking but this is working for him so far.

You being harsh on Thiem. He has a winning record vs Federer. Has decent records vs Nadal and Djokovic.
He’s more than a grafter. You can’t just graft your way by beating Djokovic in a semi final.
Thiem playing well today, he can take a set from Nadal. I think Nadal will win it in four.

Nadal tactics have been spot on since game 6, doesn’t allow Thiem to play his game at all. Nadal to win in 3 sets.
Them needs to take care of his service games and cut out the stupid errors.

I'm not sure why,but I can't stand on court Nadal. Probably the insane amount of time he takes between serves. Seems a nice bloke off court though.

Nah, he's quality. Clay, more than any surface, needs some grafting.
I've never seen any sportsman so dominant in a setting as Nadal is on RGs clay.
