It's worth remembering that Mannarino has won 3 matches to get this far, it's a last 16 match and it looks like a man against a boy...

Federer's difficult path to the title continues. If Mannarino gets to 4 games in any set it'll be quite a victory.

Can't believe they've AGAIN dumped Djoko on the side courts. That's just 1 of 4 matches on CC so far. It's a shame how biased they are against Djokovic over here.

Surely makes sense since he's a lower seed?

It's Manic Monday. Fed and Nadal, #1 and #2 seeds are playing, so...

How often do you see the #12 seed get prioritized on Centre?

It's happened to him as #1 seed and defending champion also.

Is Federer Mannarino really a better and more competitive match than Novak vs Khachinov? Also why are Rafa and Roger playing 4 matches out of 4 on CC while Novak has 2 on C1 and 1 on C2 and just the 1 on CC? Federer has now played some 19 or 20 matches in a row on CC so I don't ever expect him to get shifted to any other court but Rafa played 2 matches off CC as well last year and so did Novak. Djokovic just seems to get the worst treatment of the lot irrespective of his ranking or status.

Also, Serena is seeded #25 here and 3 of her 4 matches have been on CC. So ranking clearly shouldn't matter since Novak's seeding is pretty deceptive as well.

Money.

They also put Serena in between Fed and Nadal. Something has to give for those 32m pound in prize money.

I don't know why you find it so surprising or difficult to understand. Fed's the biggest draw at this tournament. When was the last time Nadal played at an outside court in Paris?

Serena is 7 times Wimbey winner and has won the last 14 matches she played there. Her ranking is down due to pregnancy. Djokovic hasn't won a slam in three years and failed to get past the QF's in any slam since 2016.

He's a big question mark and his form is way too volatile. Nadal is current #1 so naturally he'll get the nod.

Also Federer is the grass god and defending champion so no surprises there.

2014, 2015,2017 and 2018.
Also Novak is a huge draw. The highest audience for any match this Wimbledon this year was Novak vs Edmund last match.

That doesn't really matter.

Tsitsipas and Isner IMO would be the most competitive match today, but will likely to draw less viewers than Fed playing exhibition with the tea lady...

2014, 2015 and 2017.

I think it may have something to do Edmund....

Anyway, the match has become a lot more competitive. 4 conseccutive holds for Mannarino and he won the first point in Fed's service game a a couple times as well.

I'd argue that's as much down to Edmund being British than anything else. Put Novak up against a similarly ranked non-Brit and the audience would be much smaller.

Djoko always sells out CC as well I'm pretty sure.

Novak is a 3 time champion at Wimbledon, more than anyone but Federer from the current field. He holds the 4th or 5th highest number of wins at Wimbledon ever and still gets treated how he does. And like I said, this happens to him even when he's seeded #1 or the defending champion.
He's played matches as big as , if memory serves right, Cilic, Querry and Berydch off CC as well. After a while it just feels like a bias against Novak.

PS: This is nothing about Federer alone. I don't find it right than even Nadal's played all 4 matches on CC.

If he (Djokovic) was defending champion or current #1(or even top 3) you might have a case mate. But this Djokovic I don't see really a reason to play CC moreso than Delpo or Raonic for example.

Phenomenal volley from Federer there. The ball was so low, yet perfect control.

But that has happened? And more so at Wimbledon than anywhere else.
Also if RG can put Nadal, who absolutely owns that stadium, off PC, I don't see why any other Slam in the world can't sometimes do it.

Also think Rafa and Djokovic both complained last year about playing 2 matches off CC here. Also Djokovic had to play back to back matches on 2 days last year because they refused to shift Djoko's match to CC under the roof and lights the previous day. There definitely is a case of bias against Djokovic at Wimbledon for reasons unknown.

yeah, as I said, I'd agree with you on that note and for Djokovic of the past. But current one is a mere shadow of former self.

That's even before we begin to discuss the marketability value of Federer and generally his playing style that no one comes close to that entertaining factor.

I've always loved watching Gulbis. Sure, you have no idea what you'll get from him, but when he's on it, he can comfortably play top 10 tennis. The problem is, obviously, that he can't do it for sustained periods.

I think the current Djoko is playing far better than the current Rafa (just here at Wimbledon). Court 1 also plays a lot faster so you've got a higher chance of an upset there than on CC. Anyway I hope he gets back to his best and on the courts he deserve to be playing at.

I don't know about that. What I think there is is a bias towards Federer and to a lesser extent, Nadal at Wimbledon, which can often mean Djokovic gets sent outside to prop up another Court. None of which is fair, admittedly, but I'm not sure there's a bias against him, so much as a bias towards other players which affects him.

Also that first set from Federer was obscene. Also he'll be disappointed he didn't kill that second set faster. But he's a freakin god. Also Mannarino looked injured at one point.

Another ace on match point.

Fair play to Mannarino for making things a bit more competitive in the final two sets. He could've folded after the goose egg in set one.
