This is such a ridiculous post.

Why? She broke the rules and was making threats to the umpire. Which I add it isn't the first time she has done it. Then she turned it into sexist debate when she realised she couldn't use the race card and then starts telling him she's a mother like she's the first person to give birth or something.

And yes it was up to her. She could have focused on the match but realised her opponent was too good for her and decided to cry instead.

Theres no point highlighting singular incidents from mens game. There is no denying Federer or Nadal have had outbursts. But they didn't carry on throughout the match or used it as a excuse as to why they lost. A lot of times they used that anger to improve their play.

Serena tried to bully the umpire when she wasn't getting her way because she realised that she wasn't going to beat Osaka. This isn't the first time she's behaved like this in a match.

Comparing it to one incident that a Male player did in a match is just plain right stupid. If Nadal got warned for coaching, then started breaking racquets and calling the umpire a thief then yeah he deserves punishing too for being a stupid idiot.

But yeah carry on calling other people's post ridiculous when the rules are there in place.

The people defending overpaid sports stars acting like petulant children are the ones being ridiculous imo and trying to turn it into a sexism issue is the only thing bizarre in this whole farce.

Barely heard a peep of congratulations for a 20 year old destroying arguably the greatest women's tennis player of all time in her first grand slam final.

It was a tremendous accomplishment from Osaka. She beat Serena earlier this year as well in a similar fashion, although Serena could be able to claim she still working her way back to fitness after her pregnancy last year. Osaka is definitely here to stay though and will at some point be the #1 player in the world imo. High likelihood that the match, despite Serena's tantrum, will one day be looked at as a passing of the torch of sorts

That Twitter account clearly confused about what name to go for.

Anyway heads up laver cup this weekend. Should be good fun, I like the fast points are worth more on the last day so makes it interesting. Europe should obviously be favourites. But rest of the world has a lot of big servers who can be a handful to deal with. They should have tried to get Nishikori though rather than Schwartzman or Edmund.

Fed and Djokovic about to pair up for first time.

Just realised Del Potro pulled out. Shame he hasn't played and Nishikori isn't as it would have been more interesting.

Loved those two volleys by Federer. Reckon he'd be great at doubles too.

Anderson beats Djokovic.

Hopefully Sock and Kyrgios win, so that the final day is exciting even though I can’t stand the two idiots.

Some great matches and great points. Most matches went to tie breakers. Federer vs Isner was insane.

Great tournament just like last year. The players certainly are taking it seriously. It needs more media coverage and more people will follow it.

Someone at work said it was on Sky? I thought it was only on Amazon Prime so didn't watch any of it this year.

Here's a good summary of the tournament with the best points, match points and how it came about.

Special moments: World coming back against Europe from 7-1 to lead 8-7 and the Federer/Isner match. Isner had two match points including one on his serve which was like 10000kph, yet Federer returned it!!

Novak just destroyed Zverev 6-2, 6-1. second semifinal match is between Fed and Coric.

Coric takes out Federer....so Croatia v Serbia it is.

Novak now world #2 and rapidly closing in on Rafa.

Djokovic is playing out of his mind right now. If he can sustain this level for another year or two, he’s going to do serious damage in the slams. There’s not another player out there now who can beat him when he’s at his best.

Suprised to see that Nadal is 3 grand slams off Federer despite missing quite a few due to injury. If he could get two more French Open's and scramble a random one he'd tie the 'goat', because the latter's not getting any more. His second spring is finally sputtering out for real now.

It's a shame about Del Po, he's one of the players I was hoping to see at the O2 next month. Not sure what Nadal's fitness is like, so may not see him either. All fingers crossed on Federer.

Federer will play as he hasn’t got many of these left and he’s already said he’d play Basel and London. It’s just Paris that he might skip, which is quite sad to see considering how the French were supporting him at the French especially against Nadal.

Yeah Federer will definitely play but I just have to hope one of my tickets is for one of his sessions.

Really just want to see him live at least once!

From next year there will be a final set tie break at Wimbledon at 12-12.

Sensible decision from them really.

He may well still win this match, may well win the tournament but Federer's not been great this week. Dropped a set in his first match against Krajinovic and into a decider vs Simon at the moment. He was actually 2-5 down in the first set before turning it around to win it on a breaker.
