Murray out against Ramos Vinolas. Really poor year as no.1 for him. Think he got to the SF last year.

Stan dropped first set. That side of the draw suddenly become a bit of a joke.

Whoever wins Nadal/Zverev should have a big edge now.

Edit: and he's out.

Roger must be kicking himself a bit for not playing.

Anyone watch the Nadal Zverev match? Seen the result and the stats and surprised to see how comfortable it was.

Couldn't see the match, but I believe Nadal will walk this tournament now.

Jesus Djoker is so bad now.

He plays so wildly inconsistent and for wide stretches he looks like he absolutely can't be bothered. Weird.
I also can't remember this many drop shots in a match since Santoro retired.

He just seems to drop any will to compete after his opponent shows a bit of fight. Most of the top 50 should have a chance against this Novak if they fight for every point and mentally wear him out (which is strange to say the least, because at his peak there isn't anyone better as a competitor)

He wins it in the end.

Gotta say, Carreno Busta showed great hustle but he's as uninspiring a Top 20 player as I've seen in years.

Zverev was rubbish today. Shame Kyrgios seems to be tired/injured, feel like he's the only good player outside Fedal who's in any kind of form right now.

Another tough match for Djokovic. Goffin takes the first set comfortably 6-2.

Djokovic out.

That last game about summed up the current him. Still able to pull the cat out of the bags but just wildly inconsistent.

Caught it in glimpses but looked a very good match. Shame that Novak went out, as I was hoping to see him play Nadal.

Genuinely seems like he doesn't care about 60% of the time. Happy for Goffin though. I always enjoyed watching the little fella and he deserved a win over a top player. Hope this can carry him forward.

The last game (couldn't watch before) was really entertaining. Did anyone see the rest of the match?

Didn't see the first set but Djokovic looked alright in the second and third sets I thought, bit passive but Goffin was playing well. Shame we're left with such a predictable end to the tournament... Hopefully Ramos-Vinolas vs Pouille will be interesting at least.

Wow, the Djokovic loss is a bit unexpected. Wonder if this is the beginning of a downward slide for him.

Djokovic and Murray are following what would usually happen to 29 year old tennis players before Wawrinka and Federer came along. They both have been playing at the top for 10 years with very few injuries that it is going to take its toll. Nadal atleast has had breaks inbetween last 10 years. Two of the times he came back in 2010 and 2013 he dominated that year. Federer started to suffer shock defeats at 29 too. But he really had his first break from tennis in his whole career last year and he has come back better. Not saying Murray and Djokovic should disappear for three months. But if they do have these niggling injuries then it is better to fix than get knocked out of tournaments.

If Djokovic and Murray want to be successful in their 30s then they need to shorten the points like Federer and Wawrinka do also.

Insane shot.

Really think however he needs to adjust his playing style and learn when to protect his body. As great as it is to see, these shots can't be good for his body.
Not that I think he's made massive changes, but I think he is starting to make changes to his game.

2 breakpoints for Goffin in each of Nadal's first service games. I think he'll get overwhelmed eventually but he's putting up a good fight.

Feck me sideways just tuned in now. Nadal a break down already?

Goffin is playing fantastic tennis, it's been a very entertaining match so far. Deserved lead, he's been dictating most of the rallies.

Deuce now on his serve, though.

Horrible mistake by the umpire. Goffin wins the game after a hard fight when Nadal clearly hits long, umpire looks at the wrong mark and makes them replay the point. Hawkeye confirms that Nadal's shot was way long. Incredibly dodgy call by the umpire, disgraceful.
Goffin is understandably outraged. This was daylight robbery.

Edit: Same service game is still ongoing, it's been 15 minutes now.

Nadal gets the break. feck the umpire. Hope the audience keeps on booing, this was awful.

This is why I've always felt not using HawkEye in clay tournaments is just plain stupid. Margin is incredibly tight at the top level and you don't want human error to be involved.

Absolutely, but what's most infuriating is that it was such an obviously wrong call to everyone in the entire stadium but the ump.

Goffin looks broken and gets broken, 5:3 Nadal. That call probably ruined the entire match. Could've been cracking but I can't see the Belgian recover at all from this against a Nadal in this form.

Not watching, anyone got a clip of this call. What happened and at what score was this?

Goffin was playing really well. Nadal wasn't bad by any means, cracking match up to that point. Goffin had Advantage after 2 or 3 deuces at 3:2 with a break up. Nadal goes long (not close, more than a hand's width out as hawkeye confirmed). Goffin think he's up 4:2, umpire comes down to look at the mark. Goffin marks it immediately, but the umpire looks at a completely different mark, doesn't make the line judge that called it out look at it despite Goffin complaining vehemently. He judges Nadal's shot in and makes them replay the point. Goffin keeps fighting, but loses the service game, after 16minutes and what felt like 12 deuces. Goffin's game crumples and Nadal easily wins the set 6:3.

Goffin actually asked the supervisor to change the umpire during the set break but was denied. I really hope he refuses the hand shake in the end.

What a guy. Gives Nadal the game (1:1) after an out call against Nadal and hawkeye shows the ball touched the line by a hair.

Ah, shame that. Sounds like would have been good for Rafa to give up the point in that instance.

He could've and it would have spared him a lot of booing, but you can't really blame him, he was the furthest away.

Nadal breaks and the match is over. I'm fuming, we were robbed of potentially 3 awesome sets of tennis. Shame Goffin mentally collapsed like that, though.
