Absolutely crapping it and loving it!
Berdych always finds a way to bottle it.
I'm stunned Berdych is going to lose this in 3. I know it's an overused term but he's genuinely the biggest bottler there is against the big guys. He just never turns up.
Let's hope he doesn't call in sick and go play golf instead this time.Federer hasn't been great this tournament. If Kyrgios goes through then I can see him causing Federer big problems.
I think Kei runs Berdych closeThink Fed is tired...
Would have been disappointed if he lost to Berdych who is the biggest bottler on the men's tour sadly.
I agree Kyrgios would cause him problems. Just hasn't been sharp this tournament.Federer hasn't been great this tournament. If Kyrgios goes through then I can see him causing Federer big problems.
Del Po apart, Fed hasn't really played anyone of note all tournament so I'd have been stunned if he'd lost before now.I agree Kyrgios would cause him problems. Just hasn't been sharp this tournament.
Were he not a great champion, I reckon he'd have been dumped out of this tournament already.
Kei has his moments for sure But nobody beats Thomas the bird man Berdych!I think Kei runs Berdych close
The court doesn't suit him well IMO. His shots are not penetrating the same way Berdych ones are. When Berdych picked up the pace it troubled Fed a lot. Think both Zverev and Kyrgios will give him problems. Nadal/Fognini not so.Federer can have a shocker of a game and still win matches because of that serve of his. It's the biggest difference between him and Nadal/Djoko/Murray for me. Neither of them can get the free points on such moment like he can.
The margins are fine though, and you can get beat when you least expect it.Del Po apart, Fed hasn't really played anyone of note all tournament so I'd have been stunned if he'd lost before now.
Berdych doesn't only bottle it against the top players. He played against Nishioka recently, at Indian Wells I think, won the first set comfortably and was leading by 5-2 (2 breaks up) in the second set, but still managed to lose the game.
That's the biggest bottle job I can remember to be honest.

It's the charisma of our Rogie Fans lose their perspective when he's in the houseToday was another example of why I dislike crowds during Federer matches. They're cheering first and double faults on MP down
I agree Kyrgios would cause him problems. Just hasn't been sharp this tournament.

He just doesn't seem to have any confidence in himself in these games. I was at the Federer Berdych game at the London WTF and he was just so so shocking it was embarrassing to watch.Berdych's record against the big boys looks pretty decent on paper up until about 2013.
Why's he gone completely to shit since then against them?
Not being a Federer fan, I find it really annoying. Cheer on your man that's fine but cheering an opponents errors and double faults is in poor taste. It's the charisma of our Rogie Fans lose their perspective when he's in the house
He hasn't evolved....Berdych's record against the big boys looks pretty decent on paper up until about 2013.

Yeah it is in poor taste, and I wouldn't do it even though I love Roger above all other sport stars. However, I kind of understand the crowd's anxiety wanting him to win, it's his age, and the fact he will retire sooner rather than later - people just want him to win.Not being a Federer fan, I find it really annoying. Anyway, couple more days and finally this hardcourt season ends. Can't wait for the clay where the aces don't rain down on you
I don't see Zverev causing him problems because I think he will bottle it just like against Nadal last year in a big event.
Where as Kyrgios doesn't have a problem beating big players. It's his attitude that always lets him down.
Berdych way to lose a match. That's Berdych in a nutshell for you. The biggest bottle job in tennis. Had MP on his racket, missed and then double faults away the match.

What's wrong with some nice aces?
Or is there another reason you're looking forward to clay season?

I was expecting it at 6-4 in the TB. There's just no way he'd have pulled this off/Berdych way to lose a match.

He's genuinely the type of guy who could hit 30 aces in a match and then not hit one even if he had 2 serves to win a match. You called it pretty much dead on.
Not only that he'd lose the tie break but he'd do it in bottling fashion.
I'd believe that if it wasn't for the fact that it's been happening for years now. I have no issues supporting your favorite but to go to the extent of cheering every possible fault just makes you want to watch on mute. This is pretty much the case in all Federer games. In between the commentators wanking over him and the fans cheering every fault, it becomes slightly irritating viewing if you're not a Federer fan (yes not everyone is!)
The French fans can be dicks. Can't remember who it was, but one of the ladies was playing a match, clearly injured. She eventually retired after trying to battle through it and they booed her off.The French always seemed pretty hostile to Nadal for some reason.
Now that he's lost that Superman aura on clay I wonder if he'll be cheered more.
I remember the French cheering him against Tsonga in Paris which says something
You gotta get used to it(I'm sure you have till now) Federer is universally loved everywhere and especially in his comeback and age most would wank over him knowing it's his swan song.
Here's the interview at Bercy after the game:
