I watched him against Nishioka and checked the result against Thiem, so presumed he was struggling similarly.
Wouldn't be surprised if Stan scraped past Carreno Busta then blasted Federer/Sock off the court in the final. Sounds like Djokovic will miss Miami, he's got a shot at getting to number 2 with a win here and a decent clay swing.

Last time I watched a Masters final between these two was Monte Carlo finals when Federer threw away a set lead and lost in 3, keeping his barren run alive in Monte Carlo with 4 runner up finishes. Federer's already won Indian Wells 4 times but lost in finals twice (both to Djokovic).
