How any bloody BP does he need to break?! He put a second serve out on BP and that sitter he missed in the previous game as well.

I don't really get Rafa's game plan here. Is he just hoping Anderson double faults him a break?

Outside of serving, Anderson is quite shit. Hope that he beats Nadal, but just cannot see it happening.

He's just hitting ball after ball, straight down the middle of the court. Its awful to watch.

So basically unless Rafa breaks before, this set will go to a tie breaker that Rafa wins comfortably.

So far a final befitting the tournament.
There is no way Nadal loses this.

Anderson breaks himself. Game over.

Should be a quick affair now, Anderson got nothing to hurt Nadal, not when the courts are slow enough to allow Nadal to hit clay court returns.

It is an absolutely awful match. Anderson is terrible, while Nadal isn't even trying too play that good, just return the ball into the middle of the pitch knowing that Anderson will eventually miss it.

German commentators don't know how to make this match seem interesting anymore.

It's early enough still but all signs point to this being the third quite dull men's grand slam final in a row. Still amazing that the two greatest of all time look on course to win them all.

Time to switch off. I can envision the entire match already.

Yess. Serving first as well now. And Nadal can't play worse than he just did so should be a better performance this set hopefully.

Why do so many here dislike Nadal? Is it because he won so many times vs Fed?

Yes and because he's capable of catching Federers grandslam total. A few more French opens and maybe Djokovic helping him on the others then he's got a chance of atleast equalling it.

Anderson just needs to regroup and pretend the 1st set didn't happen.

He's got nothing to lose. He's shown he's got a bazooka of a forehand, and Nadal is just lobbing it back in the middle of the court so he should just smash it.

He would have to risk but I doubt he has something up his sleeve which can surprise Rafa.

You're probably right. He did lose the first set against PCB the other day and came roaring back to win the next 3. Rafa however, will be a much more difficult nut to crack.

The only GOAT metric in tennis is how many slams a player wins. The rest is always forgotten.

Borg & Djokovic > Sampras even if they have less slams. And Federer was pretty much accepted as the GOAT somewhere around 2007, when he didn't hold the record.

Nadal winning three more French opens is doable Imo.
I'm not sure even just catching 19 would change the debate (and I say this as someone who prefers Nadal but really likes both and sees them as the 2 best ever). If he becomes the first player in the open era to win each slam twice or was to somehow do something at Wimbledon again (say, he won at least 2 of another 3 slams away from Roland Garros) then the debate becomes more interesting.

Doubtful. The only reason Federer and Nadal are outperforming this year is because everyone else is injured or taking time off. If you add an in form Djokovic and Murray back into the mix, combined with all the other new players who are agitiating for success, then its not so simple for either Fed or Nadal to win.
