Tennis 2016

Quite the battle developing on Chatrier - Murray poised to go 1 set all vs. Gasquet. Wawrinka bossing things on Lenglen.

Djokovic basically walking off court. Other semi still being played. Absolute farce

That's a joke. Thiem and Goffin still playing. Seems like they don't want Nole to win that thing.

Yeah at least they played again, no more point for Berdych after the interruption.

Thiem - Goffin 1-1 now, Thiem turned it around in the third and looks like the better player now. Hope he makes it, would push him up to 7th place in the ATP ranking :)

Hilarious how much the rain is messing with Djok. If Murray beats Stan I think he'll win the whole tournament...

Hope Novak's set aside a decent chunk of his prize money for that linesperson who dodged his racquet.

So we got Thiem vs Djokovic in the semis. I think it's too soon for Thiem to win this at a slam, still he's definitely one to watch out for in the next couple of years, love his game.

This girl is running Serena ragged, proper side to side stuff.....age gap showing, but so is Serena's power and superior experience at times too, close one to call.

Doubt it will matter given how weak the field is this year. He should be thanking his lucky stars whatever the schedule issues are.

Except Nadal there isn't much outthere to give him probs. I doubt Federer would have done much here and the others missing are no match for Nole. The field in general is at the moment pretty weak, especially on clay, because most of the dangerous players behind the elite is better on faster courts except Thiem (Tsonga, Berdych, Raonic....) and Ferrer has been pretty shit this season. Hope Thiem will give Nole a match, but I don't expect much, has been a great tournament for him anyway. Stan - Andy should be a great match, I expect a 5 set drama :)

Yeah thinking again the rain won't affect Djokovic as much because I expect Wawrinka and Murray to go the distance. Thankfully they on first.

My interest in this tournament has not been the same as other grand slams and masters. It's been a very poor French open with not many standout matches from both mens and ladies.

It just shows how boring tennis will be without Federer and Nadal. I lost interest as soon as Nadal pulled out as him vs Djokovic was really the match everybody wanted to see.

Whoever wins out of Wawrinka and Murray, I hope they go out there with nothing to lose. Basically what Wawrinka did last year. All the pressure will be on Djokovic.

Both matches scheduled for the same time. Murray on Chatrier and Djokovic on Lenglen.

So for the first time in history I'm actually watching women's tennis with an interest. Would be amazing if Berten would be able to upset Serena. Still can't see it happening though. Once she gets her groove no one can stop her.

Hahaha fair play to him. Silly grunting. Why can't he do it and the other can.

Djokovic too good for Thiem, flawless game from Nole, 6-2 6-1 so far.

Murray wins the first set 6-4 against Stan.

I don't know why people keep saying this. Exactly the same thing was brought up time and again for when Federer was winning (presumably not by you since you're a Fed fan). He's playing and beating the best players out there. And he's so good that he'd be giving Fed in his prime a really tough time too.

Murray playing really well so far. Just hope he doesn't collapse and make it a 5 setter.. typical Andy behaviour.

Djokovic reached the final again. Murray will follow like it seems. Seems like Nole will finally win it, just can't see Andy stopping him and if he fails again, he can only blame himself. It's one think if you can't get a title when you face the GOAT on clay (Nadal), but losing against Stan and Murray in 2 finals in a row shouldn't happen if you are dominating like Nole does at the moment.

Murray with three break points in the first game. Typical Wawrinka.

Stan wins the 3rd set, could get interesting now. Murray needs to be more aggressive now, otherwise Stan will get his "flow" and then it will be really difficult. If he puts him under pressure again like he did in the first 2 sets, then Stan needs to take all risks again and will make a lot of errors.

EDIT:
And Stan lost his first serve
Such a "top or flop" player, unbelievable.

Simply because if your rivals for the title are out you'd have to consider yourself lucky. If Federer saw 3/4 of the worlds top 7-8 withdraw/get injured, he'd have to consider himself also lucky. It's not that I'd fancy Nadal or Federer or Tsonga against Djokovic today, but it does take away players who can either beat Djokovic or take advantage of him not being at the top of this game.

Djokovic will be happy with this.

He'd rather face Murray than Wawrinka. You know what to expect from Murray. Where as you don't know what Stan will show up.

Sensational stuff from Murray :D......10 days ago he was 2-3 balls away from a 1st round out against Stepanek and now he's in the final.

Murray will never get a better chance to win the French Open.

Not fair that. Murray is playing as well has he has in his career at the moment and Wawrinka last year was hitting the ball ridiculously well. Both Nadal and Federer in their primes would struggle to win those matches.

Impressed with Muguruza. Seems like Serena isn't unbeatable anymore, which you could already see at the rounds before and AO.
But you need someone who can give her a match over a whole season and not only a slam. Kerber didn't show anything after her slam win, hope Muguruza can keep her level. Was last year in the Wimbledon final too, sp hope she can be upthere too, but most of the women don't have any consistency. Azarenka could give her trouble too, especially on hardcourt, but she can barely stay fit these days.

Serena is and always will be amazing, I hope she gets title 22, 23 and maybe more. It's not going to be today though.

Despite rhetoric that focuses on everything other than her ability to be an outstanding athlete, she always perseveres.

Serena loses in straight sets to Muguruza. Good final that.

Well done to her. Her first grand slam at a young age.

Brilliant final. Well done to Muguruza, not many can battle Serena like that.

Serena clearly wasn't fit, but I know she won't use that as an excuse. Title 22 will continue to wait.
