Tennis 2016

his next match is against Karlovic and after that probably against Isner  he really didn't need these 10 sets.

He's definitely lost some of whatever chance he had to win the tournament. Expending energy now will hurt him in the later rounds. He needs Stan or Kei to be eliminated more than ever.

Fully expect him to despatch Karlo and Isner quite simply, getting in early workouts was a Federer speciality when he got to the late 20's, never really bothered him except when he started to lose them....-_-. Nadal did it a lot too, but more early 20's.

The thing is he probably won't get into long rallies with either of those so they're probably good opponents for conserving energy.

Karlovic will be the second 37 year old Murray has played in the tournament! He really should be able to up his game and despatch him. Isner is a good player but Murray is better on clay, I honestly don't know what has happened to the Murray that swatted Djokovic aside 11 days ago.

Nadal pulls out of RG due to a wrist injury. This is so depressing. He was playing really good tennis off late :(

Don't see where he goes from here honestly. Can't see him winning anymore Slam at this rate.

Must be heartbreaking. Every year, without fail.

Seriously feck off. Every year there is some injury or the other. Can't see him winning another slam now.

As far as the tournament, may as well give the trophy to Djokovic.

Oh no, that's just shit. Good for Djokovic of course, but I expected a great semifinal against Rafa. Could be a big chance for Thiem now, with Rafa out of his way, he could reach his first GS-QF, maybe even the semis, which could bring him a Top10 place.

Hoping he has one more French Open title in him in the next couple of years, just for old times sake.

At this rate though, I doubt it.

if anything, there will be even more pressure on Djoko now with Nadal gone.

I'm gutted. Going Roland Garros and seen this news, want to cry

Not the same without Roger and Rafa. Guess it's something we need to get used to. :(

Not a huge Nadal fan but disappointed that his exit basically means Djokovic will cruise into the final.

Federer should retired at the end of the year.

Nadal pulling out mid tournament is a big let down.

Men's tennis could enter some wilderness years once Murray and Djok slow down . Fed and Nadal already almost done.

No interest whatsoever in this year's French with Federer and Nadal out.

Tsonga out too. Thiem will most likely make that semifinal now.
I think Goffin would have beaten or at least given Tsonga a tough match should they have played.

Hoping for Thiem Djok semi final though.

It's been an odd one so far. No Monfils either and Tsonga had to drop out. Kyrgios had injury issues and Raonic something with his back. Rooting for Gasquet, can definitley see him beating Murray and going all the way to the finals the way he has been playing.

They're playing again today after yesterdays washout. Djokovic has just gone a set down to Bautista Agut, the 14th seed. Radwanska, the number 2 seed has been pegged back to set all against Pironkova. Murray on later against home favourite Gasquet but the forecast is not good.

Wow. So apart from the big two, the main players from the home country are injured, and two promising young players have niggles. Seems I'm not missing out on much by giving this GS a miss, something I rarely ever do.

Djokovic being made to work hard so far. I really think Nadal could've beaten him here. :(

I think now Djokovic has a set on the board, he will go on to win. Bautista Agut is no mug though, you don't get a 14th seeding for free but he will have to work his socks off now.

Annoying rain. Could be now a good fixture of games in a short period for some players including Nole.

Surely Murray and Wawrinka have to be feeling positive.

Djokovic most likely will have to play 4 games in 5 days.

French Open has to be the worst run Grandslam.

Is that me or is that a dead crowd? This game really doesn't want Federer retiring anytime soon.
