Telegraph Investigation: England Manager Sam Allardyce For Sale | Big Sam leaves England job

Maybe I'm a bit dim, but I can't see what hasslebank has done wrong.

They offered him money to do a speech in singapore and he said yes. That seems to be about all that went on.

I see Steve McLaren is another one who should be investigated. What a cock:

"It's been a hugely disappointing couple of days for English football. It's very, very sad what's happened to Sam and it could happen to any of us. Sam innocently has paid the price. Privacy can only be found within the four walls of our own home."

It wasn't going to be any bigger than Sam honestly. If it was they would have already released the others. Weird though, I would have expected bigger clubs to be caught up in this but they're probably just too smart.
If managers of the big clubs in the EPL are involved in any kind of shady dealings you'd imagine it would be airtight dealings with super agents. Can't see them being enticed to a pub for these kinds of discussions.

Yup. They're astute enough to realise they have a target on their back. Hence why this leaves Big Sam looking foolish more than anything else.

I just wonder why they went for Big Sam, unless of course they have evidence of his wrong doings as a club manager. They won't have done this on a whim.

He'd just become england manager, it sells stories.

Im still struggling to see what he did wrong apart from being an idiot. If it was further into his england career i think the FA would have backed him.

I very much doubt that we haven't been involved knowingly or not in any dodgy dealings at some point. I think like you say that we go through these super agents so we're covered.

Clamping down on agents activity would do football the world of good. The money involved is always going to lead to some level or corruption.

That is why I think there is more to it than just this. That he has done something dodgy in the past and they just got him this way. The F.A. asked for all the evidence, so there could be more and they will now know the names of the managers involved I would imagine. You wonder how many have rushed to take out court injunctions to try and block their names being revealed?

That's fairly flabbergasting.

A lot of the other managers (especially British ones) and pundits will have some history doing similar deals and meetings as Sam so they will paint the picture of him being innocent and set-up.

Has Harry come out in his defence yet? Harry.:lol::lol::lol:

Didn't they contact like 10 managers only two agreed to meet, one being Sam and the other left after 15 minutes.

Because as the paper said, he agreed to look at the players and potentially sign the fake firm would then offer him. Which on the face of it looks innoncent, until you look at it like this.

He agreed he would potentially spend QPRs money on players owned by a company that was also paying him. It reads like a dodgey deal whether it is or not.

Big Sam has long rumoured to be dodgy, his own assistant manager at Blackburn Steve Kean was filmed on camera calling him a "fecking crook" and eventually had to pay him damages, then there's the Panorama Investigation that accused him of taking bungs. Ravel Morrison claimed Allardyce was blackmailing him to sign with his Agent and was put in the reserves when he refused and now today it's came out that Cardiff held an inquiry over Morrison's transfer after they discovered suspected illegal payments to Big Sam. So perhaps the question should be why the FA even went for him in the first place as it seems he already had a questionable record at best and a massive target on his back for any journalist investigating corruption in the English game. It also goes to show the kind of man he is after getting his dream job and he still couldn't help himself courting these kinds of dodgy deals.

Worked your whole life from the bottom to the top only to shoot yourself in the foot when you get your dream job and get the sack after a month from being greedy.

I have sympathy for him but then again when you take into account how naive and full of himself he was for doing such a stupid thing you have to wonder what must have been going through his head to take such a huge risk?

I really feel its the agents that journalists should be investigating. Every commission taken (I won't say earned, I don't believe they earn it) is money that is taken out of football. When you think about it the commission from say, a £10M transfer would probably pay for a clubhouse for a junior team or training facilities for kids. Its ridiculous what the agents are getting away with.

I hope he conducts his own shady dealings in the privacy offered up within the four walls of his own walls, on a computer. He strikes me as someone who could qualify as smart enough.

McClaren's comment reminds me of reality show star Teresa Giudice, who famously said 'What happened to me could happen to anyone'...after being found guilty of 39 counts of fraud, including bank fraud, bankruptcy fraud, and conspiracy to commit mail & wire fraud. She also used the identities of dead people to commit such crimes.

I dare say it could but you'd have to have borderline personality disorder to go down that route in the first place, and Allardyce's comments and behaviour over the last few years would certainly qualify. He really hasn't given a feck for anyone or club in the time he's been involved in management. Is the joke on us though? He leaves with a massive golden handshake when he shouldn't have been given a penny.

Getting £1 million to talk shit about your employer and encourage activities which are against the rules. Yes he is getting away with murder by getting a pay off.

He'd have eventually failed miserably and left a broken man. This is his best option.

Wenger would be mad to accept the job.

That isn't anything wrong though. They broker deals and any broker gets a commission on deals they broker. Football as a whole is very high in terms of cost. A yearly salary to someone like fosu mensah could run a non league club. Doesn't mean it is wrong.

Though unless he was buying players who he doesn't think are good enough, it's not wrong.

It wouldn't be any more wrong than Jose buying players represented by Mendes, who also represents him.

Telegraph showed how much chairmain and managers corrupted are.

Cellino is there only to get money from the players' sales, and he said that english football is the worst in the world

Not only the agents but even the managers want their bribe, their kickback, all a matter of racket.

With his reputation and the previous rumours about him it would make sense for the paper to put the feelers out to his reps.
