T20 World Cup

This guy Jehan Mubarak reminds me of Russel Arnolds. Clumsy, yet effective.

That was one of the most contoled run chases I have ever seen , at times they looked like they was not going to do it ,then 2 sixes here a couple of 4's there and they got back in it.
Well done Sri Lanka well deserved win.

Great win by Sri Lanka - top knock from Sangakkara, and Australia will now spend the next few weeks preparing for the Ashes in the delightful hamlet of Leicester.

Does anybody know where about in Leicester?

"The teams in the Super Eight will be designated as A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 C2, D1, D2 depending on which group they qualified from. If the top two seeds from a group qualify, they will be seeded 1 and 2 respectively for the Super Eight regardless of which team actually finished first and second in a group during the first round. For example, if Bangladesh are first and India are second in Group A, Bangladesh will still be A2 while India will remain A1 for the Super Eight because India were seeded 1 while Bangladesh were 8. "

What's up with this? Wikipedia shows something entirely different..

Nasser Hussein was also talking about different groups

Yea, I got that after I made that post

Unbelievable. What a shit group Sri Lanka are in

Well we've had a tough initial group phase, so guess it balances out. Whereas you've had Ireland and Bangladesh to contend with.

It's true we've had a very easy group but you needed to beat only Australia and you get to play Ireland, Holland/Pakistan, NZ to enter the semis.. think you got the better deal here

Ireland playing cricket is plain wrong.

Its like a woman taking a piss standing up... or a man getting pregnant.

... oh and its always good to see the Aussies go down.

Exactly, Indians had the easiest group.

Always feels good to beat the Aussies :D

Most definitely is. They might not have mastered the 20/20 format but certainly a major scalp. Bit of a surprise considering our warm up games were poor, in particular the hiding we got from South Africa.

You're in love with this T20 WC, Spoony.

I've watched all the games. I don't mind it but as an entertainment, not a proper game of cricket. Still think it will be harmful to test match cricket. . .however it'll generate a lot of cash.

New Zealand tightening the screw against SA. De Villiers will have to work miracles to get a decent score. SA are 65-4 after 12.4 overs.

Why is De Villiers coming 4 down? Also, how come Styris has only bowled one over so far? I feel so out of touch with cricket.

I'm backing Sri Lanka. I like the look of Mendis, in particular.

Sri Lanka, NZ, India and England to make the semis.
