T20 Circus Auction Draft

I know I am not partaking but I find the minimum higher bid concept based on last bid time a little tedious. I am sure it will raise a lot of confusion especially for the current auction board since it has all the A list players.

Why is everyone putting the time of when the bid will go live ? You should be putting the time of when you placed the bid according to @crappycraperson's rules. Based on that is when the new bid's min amount shall be decided.

How will it be going on forever? Every bid goes live in 12 hours once the auction board is drawn right ? Suppose you bid for Kohli 7 hours after the last bid, then your minimum new bid has to existing bid + 5m correct ? Won't it create confusion as to what a person's minimum bid should be then when a plethora of bids keep coming in for a player? It's very possible that people will make mistakes.

Edit: Oh, apparently it is 12 hours from the last bid and not from when the auction board goes up. So then yeah, you are right, it can go on forever. The time based bidding makes sense.

Isn't it because the bids aren't considered active yet?
(All Bids go live at 20.00 GMT) - I assume this means the 12hr deadline will begin at 2000 GMT.

Yes. Post 20.00 if you bid on a player, you need to add that timestamp. That is 20.22, 21.43 etc,

This is just to get the action started.

It is borne out of experience from previous auction drafts. You used to have situations where people would pop up 5 mins before deadline and bid 1/2 min extra when they were holding back on it all the time.

Guys, a common issue in auction draft is that people end up overwriting other people's changes. So please take care of that.

Also keep the board format as above.

If everyone checks in before 20.00, we will bring forward the live time
 
So the bid for player ends 12 hours after the bidding for the player starts or 12 hours after the final bid on the player?

20.05 I make a bid

Gayle - 60m Crappy - 20.05

this matures at 20/05 + 12 = 08.05

But you come in at 23 and bid more -

Gayle - 62m - Varun - 23.00

This matures at 11.00

If by 11 no one bids on Gayle again, he is SOLD!
