until he wins three rings at least, he isn't a good quarterback :smirk:

indeed, the guy is fecking class,
kind of reminds me of John Elway, who won his two superbowls in his last two years

Urlacher, Briggs, Tillman, Vasher, Hester, (IR...but still get rings...Mike Brown, Harris), Kreutz, Tait, Alex Brown, Anderson, Ogunleye, Berrian, Johnson = class

Marino, Tarkenton, Fouts, Kelly never even won one ring and they will always be considered better than Brady

If any of those guys was the Q this year for NE, they would have won so easily. Brady has always been blessed with a great coach and a great supporting cast. Most overrated Q of our generation and only 14 year old Bostonians like you like him. :)

thats laughable to say the least, when guys on tv and nfluk.com rave about him, I think I know enough to say that Brady is and has been the best Q over the past few years.

Remember, form is temporary, class is permanent.

oh wow, nfluk must be like the gurus of american football

like fox sports is the top authority on the Premiership

the only reason he plays well is because he is on an awesome team. stick him on the Raiders and see how many rings he wins

he is more replaceable than my belly button lint

anyways, if you want to int3rw3b lick his balls, do it on the Indy vs Losers thread, I will not entertain anymore of your Bradyballlicking in the Super Bowl thread since he's not in it, cuz he threw a few interceptions didn't he?

which one are you?

Brady > Manning, its a fact.

Brady is the best big game QB since Aikman and Elway. If Jerry hadn't canned Jimmy, Aikman probably has 5 rings today.

I give Elway huge props in the "best QB of all-time" debate because he took 3 average teams to Super Bowls in the late 80s. He was basically the only top performer on the offense in those days. He never had a good running back nor top class receivers and the OL was decent but not great.

For my money, Marino was the best passer during my life, Elway was the best leader, Montana the coolest under pressure, and Aikman the most accurate. It's difficult to say who was the best. Put Marino in San Francisco during the 80s/90s and he wins multiple Super Bows... as would about 15 other QBs.

Back to the topic... I'll take Indy.

Colts 31, Bears 20

MVP: Peyton Manning

Scoring:
Indy- Manning 3 pass tds (Harrison 2, Wayne), Addai 1 rushing td, 1 FG
Chicago- Grossman 1 pass td (Berrian), Jones 1 rushing td, 2 FGs

Johnson as in Tank Johnson... the guy whose drug running roomate was killed, and was arrested on multiple gun related charges..... how is that class????

I'm not talking about whether or not they're good, I'm talking about them being classy individuals.... :wenger:

TRF, if you look at the stats Manning is a far superior QB. If you look at who has had more success, Brady wins hands down. Depends on what you feel "better" means, but if the Colts win (and for that matter how Manning led the Colts back last weekend) the "can't win the big one" tag disappears.

Plus, if the Colts do win, Manning would have done it with a much weaker defence, but with a stronger offensive unit. It really is a hard comparison, but based on stats it isn't even a competition.

I think he was talking about his on-field play, and not his personal life. As a player, he is definitely class, as is the rest of the Bears' defensive line, even without Tommie Harris.

If the Bears could handle Brees, they can handle Manning. I may be a little biased (see user name) but I've been right so far.

Hey, I agree he is a pretty good interior lineman (much better when you have Harris causing all hell to break loose).....

Manning is far better than Brees, but I don't have any doubts the Bears D can hold him somewhat. But the real question is will the Bears O fall into the same trap the Chiefs, Ravens, and Pats did and try to run the ball down the Colts throat until it's too late....

Agree about Manning being better than Brees, but you cannot say is that much better. Brees had a spectacular year (partly due to Bush being a lot better than Addai, but look at the difference in receivers).

The thing I love about the Bears, is that they don't need to blitz. Their D line is good enough to create pressure and they wear you down more than anything else. I think they will take the Colts' running game away early an force Manning to hang in the pocket and take hits with good coverege. The result will be based on whether or not Manning is tough enough. If he starts getting scared and throwing early, the Bears have a great chance of winning.

As far as the Bears' O is concerned, their line is a lot better than the ones you mentioned. That is the only reason they are able to run so well. Desmond Clark has been huge in that respect IMO. He is like another lineman in there. Did you see the block on the reverse of field run by Jones? Great awareness, great blocking and he had a few nice grabs. Kreutz is another huge factor. He is arguably the best center in the league and remember, that is who calls out the blocking assignments.

If the depleted Pats defense caused a few bad decisions for Manning, you can bet your ass that the Bears will do just as well. If Grossman gets off to a good start and controls possession, it could end up being a blowout in favour of Chicago. The Saints' defense is not worse than the Colts'. Granted Indy has been spectacular in the playoffs, like someone said before, form is temporary, and they did not show class during the regular season. And just because the Bears' defense relaxed a bit during the end of the season due to the fact they were so far ahead record-wise, does not mean they are not the best in the league by far.

I'm going to go with Grossman making some mistakes but the defense saving his arse as well.

Bears to win 31-27

another interesting thing will be Manning's thumb. you saw what the Bears did to Brees in terms of taking the ball away. you just know they will be trying to rip the ball out of Manning's mangled hand every chance they get.

Bears to win 31-27

The only thing I use to predict an outcome is to look at who both teams have played and in the case of the Bears and Colts that would be the Pats.....

And if that is any foreshadowing of this game it doesn't look good for Da Bears....

Agree totally with rrarroon. Look for the Bears to win the Super Bowl. The Colts don't have a chance against the Bears' D. Book it.

The Bears turned the ball over a lot that game. Any given Sunday! Of course if you give the ball away four times it is harder to win. But even then, they only lost by four points because the D did their job. You have to admit, giving the ball away four times to the Pats and only giving up 17 points is impressive.

Indy will turn the ball over, that is almost a given. I will be shocked if the Bears D do not force one turnover at least. I am guessing it will be 2 or 3. It will be up to the O to take advantage.

On a side note, the real reason the Colts D has improved in the playoffs and was so poor during the regular season is the return of Bob Sanders, the starting safety. He only played 4 games during the season because of injury, but has been back all playoffs. He is a ferocious tackler who is always around the ball and makes the linebacker's jobs much easier, which is why the Colts run D has vastly improved during the playoffs.

looking forward to the game.
a buddy of mine (Kevin) invited us to his house to watch the game. We usually go there or to another buddy's place for the big game party.
Problem is Kevin's a native Chicagoan and I'm pulling for the Colts so I'm thinking of watching it at home this time.

That could put you in a sticky situation... especially if he's providing all the beer...

I know, I'd hate to be muted as I know he loves his Bears. He's straight out of those SNL sketches too.
I may show up with the kids and then use them as the excuse to leave at halftime ;)

i can't at yet tell the difference to be honest

The Bears have the best defence and Colts best offense right?

Yep...

It's the classic matchup of the high powered offence versus mean, stingy defence....

well i just did that 2nd team quiz on nfl.com and it told me to support the Colts, it did when the Playoffs first started this season:nervous:
