Refusing to sell Jones to Arsenal would be as stupid as Arsenal refusing to sell us Vermaelen. Hopefully we wouldn't be that stupid. We'd be adding another injury prone player to an already injury prone team, whilst getting rid of one ourselves. Win win.

Jones is useless. He and Arsenal are a perfect match: an injury prone player joining an injury prone team.

We might as well offload him anyway and give Arsenal even more injury problems. :D

Definitely the right decision not selling Jones to Arsenal.

Same posters would probably have been willing to have sold Smalling to Arsenal a summer or two ago.

Nah, that's just a dumb statement. Jones is extremely injury prone whereas Smalling isn't. Apart from a metatarsal fracture three years ago he's only picked up niggles, keeping him away for the odd game or three.

We need 4 CBs, we shouldnt be looking to sell Jones to anyone.

I don't agree with that. He's barely featured for a long time and when he has he has been poor. Time to cut him loose.

I'd rather Taunzebe, Fosu-Mensah or even Williams got the spare minutes.

Under Mou I can see Blind, Smalling and Bailley being enough.

Didn't this guy have an article in the summer about how Jones was going to start the season as first choice? I remember a thread about it.

That was nonsense and this seems rubbish too. Of course Jones isn't a 'key part of Mourinho's defence'. He's not even making the bench.

Not sure, perhaps there is some limit? Isn't there supposed to be a wage cap as well, so they can only have 1-2 superstars on big wages?

I don't think I've ever heard of MLS teams paying big transfer fees.
Yeah they a limit of 3 players or something like that. But either way, I don't think Rooney would want to move to China.

Hull are quickly becoming Spurs cast-offs FC

If Mason goes, then I guess it will create space for up-and-coming CM Harry Winks (a 20 year-old who is in the first team squad) to get more chances to play.

Yep, pretty sure it said him and Smalling were going to be the first choice partnership.

Paving the way for Koulibaly or Romagnoli to Chelsea then? I would sure prefer if he stayed at City...

Napoli close to agreeing fee for Maksimovic. Chelsea ask Torino for time to formalize an offer as they're in pursuit of first-choice Romagnoli.

Just seems like Chelsea wanting to piss off Napoli after they asked too much for Koulibaly.

Johnny Evans has been very good for West Brom and Northern Ireland. Would do a good job for Arsenal

He's done ok in limited teams.

If he went back to a top team again, where everything is magnified, i'd wager he'd look poor again

If he signs for Hull then at least Spurs fans won't be using "We promote from academy" and cite Ryan Mason's mins as an example.

They are way ahead of you, the post below yours instantly had his "we promote from the academy" replacement.
