Seems we won't be making any more transfers due to high earners refusing to leave then. You'd think they'd want to play but I guess money and status are more important to some players.

You can understand why playing in Chinese league isn't exactly preferable.
How does Castles, a bald man who has been relegated to a Scottish Newspaper seem to have the inside track on comings and goings at United???

Baldy knows feck all. For all summer he was talking about them both leaving based on a hunch. It was fairly clear from quite a few weeks that Jose wasn't going to sell either of them. Now he's trying to cover his arse and making it seem as if he still has an inside scoop.

€20m for a top goalkeeper, to a sugar daddy club?! Whomever agreed to that at Barca should be sacked immediately if they can't get more value out of City than that.
He's 33. 20 million euros is hardly a bad deal for Barcelona.
I think Castles knows more than most when it comes to Mourinho's teams. He was the first to call Pogba to United back in mid may, and he's been claiming Schweinsteiger, Mata, Blind and Rojo were on the transfer list. I'd say he was right and Mourinho probably did put them on the market, but Mata and Blind have proven that their more than capable to be in the United squad and now things have changed.
I'd argue €20m is quite a bit over his market value, given that he's 33 and that goal keepers generally are considerably cheaper than outfield players (I believe Buffon is the only GK to ever transfer for over £20m.)
Buffon was 53 mil euro over a decade ago. 33 is not that old for some GK especially those whose biggest asset is game reading.
I'll let that one slide, but they really should be looking for new clubs.
Buffon is clearly the anomaly. De Gea who was 20 and was considered the best young GK at the time and a slightly older Neuer moved for around £18m. Ofc, the market is a lot more inflated now, but no way is getting over £16m for a 33yo GK that is not even a top fiver, that they signed for under £10m 2 years ago dreadful business.
It's like when M'Vila was being linked with every top club Europe for a few years then a little later down the line he signed for Sunderland.
