... Which would result in a transfer, not a loan. A player at Jones' age/squad position only goes on loan when the club cannot get rid of him on a permanent deal; Nani two seasons ago. If Jones was available for a loan all the mid table and lower half Premier League teams would be in line to try and get him.

Jones is just another young English lad who is massively overrated on here. Sometimes it feels like he gets better the longer he's injured.
He has his weaknesses but is still a good player when fit.
He captained Blackburn at 18 and a loan is low risk, why would teams not take a gamble on him with little consequence if it does not come off.
All of them, a loan deal would be a low risk move with a big upside if he stays injury free for all mid table teams and lower.

Jones looked back to his best against Galatasaray - quick and strong. And Mourinho who brags about keeping players fit simply doesn't go sending off one of his best defenders at the age of 24 because of a poor injury-record.
