Would be very happy to see Willian here. Suits Mourinho, had a good season and proved his character by being one of the few Chelsea players to step up when things went to shit.
Did they want rid of him? I remember it as Roman granting Juan a transfer because they were close friends and didn't want to hold him back.
Willian isn't the biggest name in world football so maybe Chelsea think they can get a high profile player in to replace him. Thats the only way this transfer goes through but I wouldnt class it as having a 0 percent chance of being successful.
Depends on if Conte wants him and if sees him as First choice too.
But strange for Jose as he tried to upgrade on him with Pedro last summer.

The guy is basically the absolute definition of average, quick? Sure. Hard working? Yeah. Technique? Fine. But even in his best season ever TM he was worse than such creative power houses as Milner, Andre Ayew and Shane Long. The sort of money he would cost he would be our record signing and he is no where near good enough for that to be the case.

I'm a big fan of Willian and would like him here but can't see that happening. Chelsea won't sell him.
Willian is so great. Hopefully he has a buy out clause and has puts in a transfer request and all the other things that would force a move.

Willian is the exact sort of player Mourinho loves, so no surprise there. Have to let him buy the type of player he wants, otherwise it won't work.

Just find it somewhat ammusing that people spend all winter complaining about how average our attacking players are and how much money we waste but then get giddy at the thought of wasting even more money on a player barely better than our incredibly average attack.
Obviously he would be massively overpriced.
Ignoring that though, he's clearly a player that suits Mourinho's system, something that makes him more valuable to a Mourinho team than many more talented attackers.
On top of that, he actually played his best football for Chelsea when everyone else went into meltdown. Seems like he has character, which is something all our best teams in the past have had an abundance of.
Not saying we should sign him exactly but if he was here I doubt we'd be complaining. I certainly wouldn't want him sold if I was a Chelsea fan...

I've always found Willian a great player, I found him very good at Shakthar, I wanted us to sign him badly when he was available as Anzhi and whenever I watched Chelsea, he has always stood out as one of their best players. He is a good winger, quick, adapted to the PL, likes to work under Mourinho and he would bring a fair share of goals and assists that we have been lacking from the right side.
I don't think we could much better than Willian to be honest if we wanted to go for a RW. Yes Mahrez after this season maybe but I think getting Mahrez is more difficult than getting Willian.

Regarding willian, he wants a new contract so this is most likely a leak from his representatives. He is doing the old, let me link myself to united to get more money from current club routine.
I thought he was Chelsea's best player too but I don't think his name would have cropped where it not to be for the link. He's good but I would not say he is the best option tbh. Those calling him great all of a sudden just makes me laugh tbh.

Which has bugger all to do with anything? For a start, thats an incredible over-reaction to a good 3-4 months of scoring free-kicks. Secondly, dead-ball ability has little or nothing to do with final product in open play and to call Willian's contribution on that front, err ,'mixed' is putting it kindly.
Put it this way, if Willian had signed for us when Chelsea bought him, and had the same three seasons that he's had at Chelsea, people would be talking about selling him not spending £70m on him.
It a classic case of 'grass is always greener' symptom with Willian.
