Strikers we could buy?

The greatest need isn't for a pure striker but a Greizmann-type of forward who can create and score.

Van Persie or Hernandez?

Both have scored 20+ goals this season
Both have PL experience
Both have experience winning championships
Wouldn't cost more than 25m.
Van Persie hasn't scored 20+ goals this season.

Come on chaps, suggesting Kane, Greizmann and the likes aren't very realistic at all.

Lacazette seems to be flying under the radar a bit, could be worth a try?

Van Persie hasn't scored 20+ goals this season.

He has scored 20. I was too lazy to type - Chicha has 20+ goals this season and Van Persie has got 20 - so I went 20+ for both . But, feck, thanks. :D

A 28 year old Higuain could be our best option since he will give us three years of his prime whilst we play in enough competitions to rotate young Rashford in and when Higuain turns 31 hopefully Rashford will be ready to take a more prominent role.

Hah, it was 1 goal every 2 games but honestly, with how Mancini's Inter play it probably is 1 in 2 chances as well. The basic stats are near identical.

Manchester United: 36 games, 18 wins, 9 draws, 9 losses; Goals For: 44; Goals Against: 31
Inter Milan: 36 games, 19 wins, 7 draws, 10 losses; Goals For: 47; Goals Against; 34
Like a match made in heaven, Icardi to us and LVG to Inter as DOF please.

I'd love Higuain. Chelsea have been linked heavily with him recently.

44 goals in 36 games...feck me:(

Plays for Marseille, Belgian player. He's a physically strong striker who's quite good in bringing his teammates into play. He's also a decent dribbler. At least that's the impression I had, when I watched him. He has scored 16 goals and has 9 assists in 31 starts and 4 substitute appearances in an awful Marseille team this season. And he's quick.

Could be something great. Strong and pacy. Good pegs on him as well.

Yeah even though he bottles the big moments he is lethal against your run of the mill opponents, you know the ones we need to beat inorder to make it to the big moments.

Is rashford good enough to be the main striker of Manchester United?

If it's backup position he's already nailed it. But for the ace main striker 30+ goal machine.... I doubt it, not even in 2 or 3 years from now.

That's what I like about him, plus I imagined he'd be relatively cheap and we could splash the cash in other areas.

I'm not sure if we can get him super cheap as every club looks to milk us dry, but I would think he'd be cheaper than a lot of others suggested here, him and Janssen probably the two least pricey options available.

Even if he was, he needs some competition and we need depth.

A lot here (myself included) had been saying that Griezmann is the one to go for.
I guess this Train has left the Station. The guy who destroyed Barca and Bayern in this year´s CL will be impossible to get for us in our current Situation.oth
The same can be said about Kane. I expect both to Play a decent Euro as well so both will only be available for crazy amounts this summer.

Most other names mentioned here are either a gamble, too old or not better than Rashford and Rooney.
So as I am not the biggest fan of Rooney playing in midfield I would rotate those 2 and hope for Rashford to confirm his potential.

Bigger Needs would be a RW and maybe a 10/ a creative midfielder.

Janssen reminds me of David Hurst, reckon SAF would have liked him..
The ex Sheffield Wednesday player?

Jansen looked a proper player vs England (as Redknapp would say), need to be careful signing strikers from the Dutch league only seem to go one of two ways, never a solid signing

Lukaku for me.

He has plenty more to give than what he is doing at Everton.

Just activate Griezmann's release clause and double his salary.

You know when in FM the agent informs you that the player doesn't even want to initiate contract talks with your club?
Hopefully Atletico will win CL and he'll welcome a new challenge or want more money. At least that's what we can offer him.

Paolo Dybala, Morata or Ibrahimovic (freebie) realistic ones.
Aubameyang and/or Griezmann would be the top targets I think, even 1 of the 2 is unlikely, Higuain has come back strong after leaving Real, he would be near the top of the list.
Dybala and Griezmann both more playing off the main striker types rather than a No9.

Nothing is going to cripple Rashford's chances if he continues to play like he has and improves. We need multiple options.

Nah he has scored 14 goals. Same as Rooney I think.

Kane, Griezmann, Dybala, Ibrahimovic, Lacazzete, Aubameyang, Lukaku, Higuian, Cavani, Icardi, Batshuayi, Morata, Janssen, Embolo, Berardi, among others.

There are a lot of quality strikers. Some of them can be unrealistic and others not good enough to be starters... but I hope we sign the best available that complement our attack.

What front of 3 would you like to see next season?

I thought so, too. Until the guardian reported this:

He's 28. I think what you are describing would happen with signing Higuain. It's a really difficult situation.
Its not. We don't know for certain how good Marcus will become so to be on the safe side, a proven scorer is necessary, otherwise we may not be in no title race for a good while. 18 years old!!! he makes me feel sooo old. Fact is he is a kid. and 18 year old doesn't command automatic 1st team football. He can break in regular when he is 20-21 and even then that is still really young. He'll have plenty of games to develop

I think the most likely are Icardi or Mane. Icardi looks a proper 9 but something of a loose cannon.

Perhaps there is someone from the Dutch league that nobody has heard of.

Griezmann would be the dream signing but he isnt really a 9 i dont think?

Lacazette is showing he is not a one season wonder with 21 goals in 31 this season for Lyon. Pacy forward with the touch to finish.

He was never a one season wonder, he has played at a good level since he is 19, Martial for example barely played at Lacazette's average level in France.

Griezz could be a dream signing could cover striker and alternate on the right as well, need versatile world class players so we can parallelly develop our own promising youngsters.. the frencheman would be ideal signing
