Still Need that Game Changer

Pogba is a game changer and I think he can rip the PL to shreds. Have faith, now that we have Matic will give him that freedom to do his thing.

Lukaku + Rashford + Pogba + Mata + Martial(still has to prove himself for me) are players that are good enough for top 4 at the very least

But he has the ability to change the game in seconds.

Di Maria was the guy who was constantly looking to attack; and LVG hated that. LVG wanted us to hold possession and do the back/side passing, which just wasn't in Di Maria's footballing vocabulary.
Under Jose, Di Maria's will to attack would not be stifled; in fact Jose loves it when his attackers, attack with pace.
I still remember last season, when he brought on Martial and he was shouting at him to attack...urging him to push forward without any fear. This is contrary to what most people think about Jose, when they say that Jose puts defence above everything else. That day, he wasn't telling Martial to defend, at all.

I could certainly see Jose being arrogant enough to bring a player back and making it work for him where it has failed before!

Very unlikely we'll see him in a United shirt again, but as you say, he would be asked to do what he does best under Mourinho.

He wants his attacking players to express themselves but with end product. He also notes how players like Chicharito just have a way of getting the ball into the net, even when it isn't pretty. And for all his faults, Di Maria had end product.

Di Maria isn't the answer. I'd honestly rather Mahrez. He can beat a man, but isn't a proper goal threat. He can't get 15+ PL goals I don't think.

Just a year ago.

Not long ago at all, the discussion was about how current candidates in this thread like Dembele and Mbappé are on a similar level to our own. We need to harvest this kind of form from Martial again. If we do, then give or take, he's on a similar level to the likes of Mbappé and Dembele.

He was beating men, scoring and creating goals. That video also shows sitters he laid on that were spurned. The rest of the attack was so poor at the time too.

No doubt in my mind that Martial has what it takes to be that player. He literally possesses all the attributes we have stated we want from that guy. He is also physically strong enough too.

Dele Ali.

£100million. Show the league we mean business, even if we are turned down it shows we are prepared to go above other clubs and tempt the best talent.

To be honest I'm not sure how he would fit in unless we moved to 3-5-2.

It would be great if we can get Alexis Sanchez. I can see him going to another club this transfer window.

IMO we need more a winger like him than a second striker like Griezmann. Miki, Mata and even Zlatan could play behind Lukaku.

Also, Sanchez is right now in a better form than Bale and other wingers related with us.

Appears to be no willingness from either party to make such a deal happen.

We should've challenged Barca for Dembele, he's the next big thing.
We should have signed him last season for 14m. He just wanted to sign for a team where he would be in the first XI and we could have offered him that.

I agree with you, he is going to end up being the next big thing with other players like Asensio, Mbappe, Dybala, etc.

Save our money then go drop £150m on Dybala next summer. Make him play as a second striker coming off the right wing.

Or, you know, just keep with what we have now. Mkhi, Martial, Mata behind Lukaku looks really good on paper.

A game changer would be an absolutely top of the range left back/wing back. If Shaw doesn't cut it, we need a different option asap because Blind is sub standard.

This would be my choice as well but somehow I don't see it happening, I reckon Griezmann is still the plan, I'm hoping we might go for Pulisic as well.

Agreed. A game changing attacker too would really force cocks out though.

Would love Alli at United but there is literally no way Spurs part with Alli or Kane for anywhere below 200mil, given the current market, their age, the fact that they are homegrown & how much of a cnut Levy is.

Very good player on his day, but as far as game changers go, id want one or two levels above him if im honest.
I think Mahrez would make a great signing at the mentioned prices.

There are only a handful of players I'd consider better game-changers, but they are probably not too attainable.
