"Who, me?"
You missed off the "Don't you know who I am?" bit.

Stevie is like snapchat, you only see him for a few seconds.

And then erased from all memory!

On the side note, 6 match ban for spitting, 3 match ban for trying to purposely injure a fellow professional...needs some serious revisiting this!

Apologised to everyone except the guy he stamped on. Just about sums him up.
That whole club has a small time mentality when it comes to us.

Remember when both Suarez and they "apologized" after the whole racist/handshake incident. The whole apology was directed towards their fans, not a single mention about Evra. Also when Fergie retired and every club and their mothers wrote a farewell message. I know they have no love for him, but he was a massive figure in world football for years and at head of their fiercest rivals. Showing their respect would have honorable, but they choose to be silent instead

Just curious. How do the media and fans view/rate Gerrard in Portugal (and Spain)?

As a very good player but not up there with the very best. When playing for the english national team, he was never stand out against Portugal or had a very big impact in the tournaments, so he isn´t really the most mediatic or followed player. People will mostly remember his Champions League performances because domestic football wise, he doesn´t have league wins to show and that´s what people see first dispite him being a very regular player even in underachieving teams. There is one thing i like about Gerrard and that´s his loyalty to one team (forgetting the Chelsea episode), which is very rare in today´s football and i value that. But i think he is an hypocrite. I remember his cringe interview about cheating and his mention of Ronaldo and Ricardo Carvalho. He´s way worse than Carvalho ever was. The diving, the backpasses, awful tackles, stampings are just some of things that should prevent him from having any moralist speech. I mantain that he gets away with those because he is english. If he was a Johnny foreigner, the media would bully him out of the league (like they have done with other players).

He's getting really let off this red card. Henry's comments for example, if that was Rooney he'd be getting slammed for that.

Less than 1 minute one crunching tackle then a stamp. Ridiculous from him. Good that he apologised liked that, but seriously imagine if that was Rooney.

He's not sorry for the stamp, he's sorry he got sent off for it hence the apology to their fans and his teammates but not ander. He can shove his self important apology up his arse and piss off to america, hopefully he will love it so much over there he never comes back.

Couldn't agree more with this.

I cant believe a man of his experience and responsibility can get himself in that sort of situation. The sending off wasn't even questionable. He was so hot headed and rash it is hard to believe it was him who did it. To be completely honest I've always had a little bit of respect for Gerrard as a footballer but he's gone down in my estimation a lot. He is truly done as a top level player.

Purposely stamping or intending to hurt someone is surely worth more than a 3 game ban?

fecking shitehouse of a club that is being run by a bunch of shitehawks too.

When you consider Jonny Evans got a 6 game ban for "maybe spitting on an opponent", which is utter disgusting and rightly is punishable with a hefty ban, intentionally trying to hurt a fellow professional has to command more than just a three game ban?

Just listening to Colin Murray on Talksport and to be fair they are slating Gerrard. Des Kelly just pointed out the fact that Gerrard apologised, but omitted to apologise to the one person who really deserved it and that was Herrera. Also they were laughing about all the people trying to justify why Gerrard reacted like he did.

Refreshing to hear, am getting sick and tired of people lauding him as "a model professional" for apologizing.

That is what annoyed them, that he is being treated like some god who regressed a bit and that it was out of character, where if it was another player they would be hauled over the coals. Kelly said he should have been treated like anybody else who stamped on someone.

watched and supported by even bigger shithouses.

Call the exterminating squad and fecking get rid of the scum club.

The fact that he even had the nerve to come out and give an interview afterwards (something I wasn't even aware players sent off were allowed to do) shows just how self obsessed he is and let's be honest, he apologized because he got caught trying to hurt a fellow professional, he wasn't sorry for doing it as he didn't once make an apology to Ander himself.

Good that he apologised liked that

Imo, the apology meant nothing, since he didn't actually apologise to Herrera, the man he could have caused a serious injury to.

His apology was completely self-centred, essentially "I'm sorry I got caught (being the scumbag I am)"

Oh and the fact that they lost because he got sent off. It was all his fault, he is that important to them. In his opinion that is.

Thought Herrera was going to cry for a second; of all the players he could have stamped, he chose one of the nicest guys in the team. Scumbag a***hole.

To be fair - Captain Fantastic/Hard-man did pick our smallest and least aggressive player on the pitch (and not to mention the nicest man in the entire world) to to put an aggressive slide tackle in on... what a warrior.

Agreed and good to know :p. He was a fine player and one of the best midfielders in the world at his peak but never a great (a pool legend though) for me. He's done his legacy no favors with his slip costing Pool their title and this nasty red severely jeopardising Pool's top 4 hopes.

Bit of a hypocrite too, like you've stated.

Ideally, id like Liverpool to beat blackburn, get to wembley (extra game) and then lose to Villa by fcking it up. However an OG on his birthday in the final to lose the trophy would be a brilliant send off.

Brenda wont pick him for the final if they make it there. Would prefer to see them lose to Blackburn, so the Slippy send off tour will be over.

It feels so good to see that pisshead suffering, no league title, a record red card in hopefully his last ever game against us at Anfield, I just love it. The shithouse club and its self-centered Captain Me deserve each other so much.

What makes it worse were the excuses afforded for him and the fact that he failed to apologise to Herrera. Apparently, if you don't start games, you're going to lash out at opposition players... Pathetic club, pathetic players.

Yeah, he's lived off his penalties and free kicks for a while now. Funny how the things most fans will remember him for now is this, the slip last season and then with England it'll be him assisting Suarez twice to knock England out of the world cup. At his best, top player, but ultimately a failure.

Very appropriate. We'll remember him forever if we beat Liverpool to a CL spot.

You hit the nail on the head @DomesticTadpole - Slippy G tried to injure Herrera, gets half a minute on the pitch and is off. But his apology is to Liverpool, not the guy he stamped on. Then he follows it with the team lost because he was sent off. That's his God-like apology. It's all about him. Sorry, my minons. Obviously the team were losing in the first half because he wasn't playing and they weren't injuring enough United players and getting away with it.

Don't forget it was him who had the chance to score against Croatia to put England out of sight for the Euro 2008 qualifiers, instead he bottled it.

This along with the Suarez assists in the WC, the slip and yesterday will always be what I will remember him for!

Best part is they've been at their best now he's playing very rarely but he doesnt realise it or doesnt want to...
What an ego maniac...

Dont remember that. Only thing I remember is how he got dominated by our midfield, especially Modrić who was then just coming into the scene. :)
