That run is more in Sterling mould
a month later...
I got sick of all the "Steven Gerrard deserves it" spiel after their 3-2 win vs City. You deserve the title when you win it, not coming close to it couple times.
Serves them and the Liverpool loving media right for thinking they'd already won it. It'll haunt him till the end of his days.
Picture this, penalty shoot out in the KO rounds, Stevie steps, slips on arse JT style, England get knocked out.Seriously though, I wonder what sort of mental state he is in. I wonder if the World Cup is the best thing for him this summer, he's going to be absolutely mentally drained come the start of next season. Which is nice.

Surely it's enough to crush many people, I often wonder how on earth more sportsmen don't suffer from mental health issues, I know there are plenty that do but for many of them its just failure after failure right in the public eye.
Agreed, it must be tough to handle. In Gerrard's case, the taunting from other fans he has received since his slip and will continue to receive next season must hurt like hell and the fact that it was his error that ultimately cost Liverpool will haunt him for a good while.
It really was hilariousGet in! Hope they don't win it for years to come. You couldn't have made this up! I mean it could have been ANY Liverpool player who could have slipped or it could have been Gerrard against ANY team, but no, it had to be Gerrard against Chelsea! Priceless!
On another note, they just don't have the right mentality, do they? Overrated captain St Stevie of Me completely losing it against Chelsea after his slip by wasting countless chances. Then let's also not forget first St Stevie crying/celebrating after the City game when the title wasn't even completely won, and then Suarez crying after the Palace game when the title wasn't even completely lost. And then someone wants to tell me they deserved the title??
Im sure a lot of them do. Its been said quite a bit that Ronaldo goes to a psychologist.Surely it's enough to crush many people, I often wonder how on earth more sportsmen don't suffer from mental health issues, I know there are plenty that do but for many of them its just failure after failure right in the public eye.

Very true.Given the high rate of depression and those are the high profile ones...it's quite a serious issue
Fair enough, but then he didn't need to do it in that fecking round with other players. It definitely was getting ahead of yourself and thinking you have done it the way he acted.Sorry to ruin this a bit but he was crying because of the anniversary of Hillsborough and his cousin dying.
I'm all for giving him the stick he deserves but that's a separate issue
Can anyone put the Gary Neville Orgasm audio over the Gerrard slip & Ba goal?
Tonight is Hansen's last ever MOTD (although I think he'll be part of the BBC World Cup coverage). If Liverpool had won the league it would've been unthinkably unbearable to watch.
And now, it is going to be class
