Sterling rejects new deal | Telegraph

I don't know why some of you think he should stick with the scouse if he has better offers elsewhere.

Feck sake, he has 15 kids to 14 women to support, he needs every penny.

Liverpool are at an all time low especially with Gerrard calling it quits so this the ball is in Sterlings court, he'll milk them for every penny if he stays.

Best thing would be if Real want a new shiny toy and go for Sterling. Would mean Bale/Reus are up for grabs.

Please be true. It's only the mirror though, hoping more sources report it.

It's the Mirror. Rodgers said himself a couple of days ago that a deal will be done. The Telegraph and other more reliable sources all said a deal would be done by the end of the month.

I don't think that Liverpool will be very stingy on a new contract offer. Everyone and their mums know his value as a player and to the club. The main thing is what is said to him to make him stay if there are any other offers for him at all. Surely there will be CL football promises and the likes and if that isn't fulfilled they won't be able to say no to every offer that's reasonable like they have been able to do. We're not in a much different positions ourselves. Can't imagine that Di Maria would be very happy if United finish 5th.

Rather have Sterling over them, really.

Since when did contract renewals have monthly deadlines? Papers rehashing a lot of rubbish. I'd love it for him to walk out on them but he'll sign. I said it earlier on in the season, I believe he'll stay purely because he has a good relationship with the manager and he can continue to develop in that style of play.

Smart move if true - he has developed the profile now that he won't see the wage offer decrease even if his form drops, and given what he has left on his contract now then it makes sense to take his time to see what happens with Liverpool, and what offers arise elsewhere.

I expect him to renew soon enough though.

Apparently, it is.

Again, it's the Mirror and Rodgers himself said he'll be signing a new deal. I'm not worried in the slightest. Haven't been since this speculation started. The only player we have that I'm worried about losing in the near future is Coutinho.

I think there'll be more demand for sterling than coutinho.

He'll sign soon enough, but should he continue on this upward trend(nothing shows that he won't), he'll be off when Real, or Barca come a calling, contracts mean nothing more that the club getting a better fee. Sterling will probably want to repay the faith shown in him and such, too, so he's less likely to leave anytime soon.

Wouldn't start taking what Rogers says as gospel to be honest.
You're probably best off with the mirror.

Id believe The Express before I believed anything Rodgers said.

Let's offer him £150k. He'd make a cracking wing back..

I think we should just buy him for the laugh, the meltdown would be epic. That and if he cost £40+ million it would be even funnier watching what Rodgers spend it on.

Rodgers saying that they have offered Sterling a great deal but says the club will not pay over the odds.

In reality, they've probably offered him an average deal. Rodgers thinks everything is incredible.
