Can't we have an initial drafting of 14 players as usual? Or 13?
It would
- make the teams less predictable in the sense you are not sure of the opposing starting 11 while adapting your strategy if necessary depending some opposing players
- enable managers to diversify the starting 11 and the tactical system in the draft (make the draft less boring if you always see the same tactical system with the same players)
In the same vein, can't we have:
R1: 2+1 star players
QF: 3+1 star players
SF and final: 4+1 star players

The 12 players limit will stay because it is needed for how the reinforcements will work. I think I found a nice caveat for these, which will great fun for both managers and observers. We will reveal that when it's ready
I always love these announcements and there needs to be some kind of weight to it as well. I want to see managers panicking in how to use their remaining picks to stay true to the philosophy while there is always the looming threat of your opponent being strong in your weak spot.

Aye, it's different in one of the random drafts like sheep or roulette, but surely something like this should be about showcasing the players rather than random twists and turns and throwing in more players that have been picked a thousand times before.
Relax lads, the only twist will be the final reinforcement round, but that has been hinted at in the rules from the start and will be revealed before the first reinforcement round will start the latest.
I can safely promise you that the players in the block list are blocked forever and will never come back. This is no sheep draft where you suddenly get a free run at Beckenbauer

Please don't think my intention was to corrupt the spirit of the draft or make you change your plans. Like the other junkies, I love your draft.
My previous was driven by 2 considerations: room for improvement and room for change.

I like the idea of enabling someone to change drastically the shape of a team between 2 games. More players to be picked meant more usually ignored players to be picked. More players for more freedom, not more GOATS in a starting 11.
So my intention was healthy and I am certainly the most open guy here to see new faces in these drafts as I suggested several times a Losers Draft without success in 2016, 2017 and 2018
