Spurs 2018/19

You think so? Honestly, Alli frustrates me more often than not. He loses the ball far too often and last season went missing far too often. I remember him having a good game against Newcastle this season but that is it.

He can be frustrating at times I get that because he always looks to use technique to beat players, make clever flicks, etc. rather than just keep it simple at times. However he has been in great form so far this season (apart from the dreadful Watford match) and the signs are very promising that he will have a very good season. Alli in some ways is overrated but in other ways is vastly underrated if you get what I mean - he is an absolutely sensational talent and we are lucky to have him.

Spurs are so poor if Kane isn’t on his game.

Going to be a long season for them. I wonder if the media will get into Pochettino and the underachievers?

Poch very very naive.

Unbelievable that he's not made any real adjustments. It's become a big trait of his and I'm not sure if it's stubbornness or lack of a plan B but he needs to address it moving forward.

No investment is gonna bite them in the arse this season.

Losing 3-0 at home to this lot still annoys me.

We are in poor form for sure.

Surprised they weren’t in for James Maddison as well, rather than just go for Grealish. Think they would’ve been pretty nailed on for top 4 with that one quality midfield addition.

Great shout I really like him.

So what excuse will Kane get now? From telling us he must have an injury we don't know about to he needs a rest..
What's left?

What excuses as you referring to? He looks tired and out of form to me. Not an excuse just an observation.

Today is the worst I've ever seen them play. So sloppy, mistakes all over the place and weren't even dangerous a bit.

He's just not playing well is basically what I'm saying.
Can he not just suffer from a lack of form without some plucked from the sky medical issue that's suddenly invented from nowhere (for example)
I'm not even having at Kane.

Yeah of course - honestly haven't heard anything like that before - he is out of form that's it. It happens.

How many times does the manager have to keep getting exposed at the highest level?

Look tired. Didn’t think they would make top four season and still don’t after today.

They are lucky that we aren't playing well ourselves. One of us will miss top four imo.

Spurs were poor today. They looked tired and unmotivated. In the end though they could have nicked a point. That was a clear foul on Son in the box by Mane. If we had VAR its a draw.

Thought Liverpool would do them, Dier in that pivot role is awful, not overly comfortable on the ball, not great with distribution. Should stick to just being a midfield enforcer, backup CB. Spurs were poor all over the park, lucky Liverpool's attack was abit rubbish today or it could have been more. Moura or Vertonghen best Spurs player, id almost give it to Erik 'im always injured' Lamela for his cameo.

He was very good in that position the year Leicester won the title - him and Dembele were solid.

Not sure what's happened since then.

A Spurs fan can probably give us a better description, but I believe Dembele mostly took the ball in the middle from the CB's on the half turn. Then he would look to drive forward with it drawing fouls or people having to come out of defense to deal with him. Dier was the deep lying screen for the CB's and midfield enforcer, he would also drop into the CB line to make a back three.

I love it when Spurs set up their midfield with Dembele in it. My Spurs friends tell me he's the dog's blocks but I only watch him against us and every time I see him he slows the game down with his insistence on dribbling. Wasn't the worst player today, there were far worse, but just wanted to say I hope we can play against him every week. :D

Moura looks really good. We need him at Liverpool sharpish. Maybe if/when Real come calling for Mane or Salah in the summer.

I don't get it. Last season this forum kept banging on about what an incredible set of players Spurs had, and how we should be in for Poch. And yet here we are, again, with Spurs flattering to decieve. Something doesn't add up...

They got a deceiving win against us and it's showing over the run. Their start of the league was as slow as last couple of seasons but they got lucky in some matches.

They usually pick their form in second half of season though.

They don't actually have a midfield, don't know how long they think they are going to get away with this.

Pretty much all the fears I expressed when we signed nobody have been proven completely accurate. Total lack of creativity from midfield, massive over-reliance on Dembele who is on the decline, and leaning on the likes of Winks when he's clearly not ready to regularly start. We also are still completely reliant on Kane and due to a total lack of options are going to have to continue to start him despite it being obvious for months he needs a good rest.

Was a shite performance all round and if your honest I don’t think any signing would have made much difference. Had loads of the ball and did feck all with it and when we did have our chances we failed to take them. Kane looks shattered, Eriksen was no where and at the back we looked porous to even the slightest attack, thank feck we got our early points is all I can say.

Poch needs to get the lads up for it and we do have options for Kane, Fernando and Son but Poch will refuse to do it. Klopp had him read even before the ball was kicked, he tried to pay the high line but we were out pressed and punished every time on the break, we were lucky it wasn't 4 or 5. Only plus points from today was Son, Winks and Lamela (should have started) bending back

You are a genius. Nobody could have predicted this.

Kane was so isolated today. Liverpool found it easy to mark him out of the game as really Lucas Moura was the only other player with potential to run past him, not something Eriksen would do and he was only other attacking player.

For all the stick he's getting Dele Ali was miss today as he's someone Liverpool would've had to watch with his runs from deep, maybe could've started Son but guess he was tired from all the South Korea games.
