Those number 10s are intricate and fast. Who have we got that can replicate that move for the second goal? Mount maybe?

God result, bad performance, defensivley very nervous.
Having Morita and Hjulmand only in the mieldfied is not a good idea, generally in these games we have Pote doing the third man in the mieldfield but he is coming from an injury and his very far from top form. In the second half i expect Quenda for Catamo and Trincão for Edwards, Bragança will be one of the first to enter.

Amad has played in that system before

That’s fair, just think Amad probs needs a bit more time but he should definitely be next on the list.

I’d even argue that Rashford doesn’t get a look in unless he plays at number 9.

He's going to take one look at Antony in training and book the next flight home to Lisbon
 . I wonder if he could actually improve in this tactic.he won't be as isolated as in our previous system. One can only dream.

Yeah was saying on the Mount thread that he could cement one of the #10 roles if he stays fit. Quite similar to his role under Tuchel. One can hope right?

They have genuine pace and brains on the break/counter. Who we got?

Got to stay realistic. Even aside from the fact half our squad couldn't get a game in the Portuguese league... after LVG nearly won the fecking world cup I thought he was going to be amazing. That bubble burst real fast on the way home from Manchester after losing to Swansea in his first game

Isn’t the rule that if it hits the body before a hand it’s not a penalty?

So why is this given?

Because City

At this point, VAR needs to be scrapped. The amount of wrong decisions that go to VAR that they then also get wrong is ridiculous.

At least now he is ready for the premier league. If certain teams struggle with unlimited money and power - they may randomly get a ridiculously dodgy decision.

So where do Sporting get all these players from who are capable of playing so well? It's not like they go out spending £200m every summer. Surely we can find them too, and surely at least some of our squad are capable of replicating it if coached well

Shame their DOF has just gone to city

Think if the hand is still in an “unnatural” position, that hitting the body before bit becomes a bit moot. Stupid pen call nonetheless. He didn’t stop any advantage and he was busy falling to the ground so what exactly is a natural position of the hand anyway

Can we please offer Sporting Rashford, Antony, Zirkzee and Mount for Gyokeres?

Plus some money obviously as they wouldn't swap a top striker for that dross

Gyokeres is going to be in England next year, sure hope he fancies playing in the conference league for us over Arsenal

I didn't realise Gyokeres played for Brighton. I wonder if Ashworth signed him..or sold him

Jesus. You are insufferably miserable.

The players aren’t any better than any that we have, they’ve just been coached by someone who knows what he’s doing.

I guess that’s the hope with Amorim - find a manager who communicates his ideas well and is able to implement a system, players/team will all look competent - sum of the whole is greater than each individual part blah blah.

I guess try and bring any of these sporting players to what has been the clusterfeck of United post SAF, and I think they’re all mostly struggle as well.
