Southport knife attack - 3 children dead & others injured | killer gets 52 years +

I've bumped a bunch of posts into a new thread basically because we've moved a long way from Southport and the original attack.

If I've moved/move your post in error my apologies.

Hopefully, he gets chewed up and spat out in prison violently, the sooner the better.

Hilarious that Starmer seems more bothered about keeping certain communities on his side rather than tackling the issues that have made the country decrypted.
Bloody foreigners. Coming over here and encrypting our data. Probably floated over a data lake in an inflatable.

While the rest of the country is going to hell in a handbasket, the children of Southport came together to blow bubbles as "kisses to the sky" tonight.

Some good news today. All injured children have now been released from hospital. Well done to all for making sure that there weren't more deaths.

Fantastic news. Hope those poor kids get all the support and therapy they need after enduring something so traumatic.

Very good, keep it coming. Anyone who was involved in causing or participating in civil unrest should be locked up.

Being charged with terrorism. Police say he made ricin and had an Al Qaeda manual.

Hard one to seperate that.

Owned Al Qaeda manual and was making ricin - charged with breaches of the terrorism act for that, but the killings not seen as terrorism as of yet.

You could say a mentally unstable person could do both things independently of one another. One day I make ricin and read Al Qaeda, forget about it for a while and then completely unrelatedly kill some people but it would be tough to convince people that's the case.

Guess the thing about whether he was a Muslim or not is now going to come back up again with the Al Qaeda paraphernalia too. People were saying he doesn't have an Islamic name, that he wasn't from a Muslim background, but then some were saying he could have converted which while true seeing as anyone could, it seemed unlikely and pure guesswork. Did see chatter with people saying he was practising Islamic prayer in custody but just put it down to the same kind of rumours that were going around naming a fictional person being responsible at first.

Axel Rudakubana - Pleads guilty to murder New
Axel Rudakubana, 18, has pleaded guilty on the first day of his trial to murdering three young girls in a knife attack at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.

Rudakubana, from Banks in Lancashire, admitted to the murders of Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, Bebe King, six, and seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe on 29 July 2024.

Not guilty pleas had been entered on his behalf at a previous hearing.

But as the case was about to begin at Liverpool Crown Court, Stan Reisz KC, defending, asked for the charges to be put to his client again and he pleaded guilty to three counts of murder and 10 of attempted murder, along with two terror-related charges.

Scumbag.

Sad that some other scum bags try to make this about race rather than individuals. I bet those people didn't do the same after Dunblane.

On Monday, Axel Rudakubana was was facing a four-week trial - but at the last minute changed his pleas, and admitted 16 charges:

  • The murder of three girls on 29 July 2024: Alice da SilvaAguiar, aged nine; Bebe King, six; and seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe
  • The attempted murder of 10 people on the same day: theyinclude eight children, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and two adults - Leanne Lucas and John Hayes
  • Possession of a knife on the day of the stabbings
  • Production of a biological toxin, ricin, on or before 29 July
  • Possession of terrorist material - namely a PDF file entitled Military Studies In The Jihad Against TheTyrants, The Al Qaeda Training Manual - which he had between 29 August 2021 and 30 July 2024

The ricin and the PDF were found after theattack, during searches of Rudakubana’s home.

Sentencing today.

This is another exceptional case where life imprisonment even if the offender is considered under age is warranted. Reading the reports out of the court today i wouldn't be against the death penalty for this sort of case. What a scumbag.

Usually I calm down months after events like this. But in this case even months later I just want the general prison population to deal with him. Would be very surprised if he sees the end of his sentence.

(I know 2 wrongs don't make a right, but sometimes I don't care).

I genuinely think life imprisonment (under most conditions) is a worse punishment than death, so if that's on the table in any way, I wish him good health.

With the state British prisons tend to be in, I'd agree that he's probably worse off being in there for life. So yeah, lock him up and throw away the key.

He cannot get a whole life order as he is under 21. I imagine they will go for 40 or 50 years as a minimum, given the crimes.
The judge could be creative, he could choose consecutive sentences rather than concurrent, say 25 years for each murder and 15 years for each attempted murder, even with standard parole options he'd be dead before those cane in

I was under the impression that consecutive sentences can only be given for crimes that were committed in a separate event. Maybe I'm just chatting shite though.

TBH I have no idea, so could be I'm talking shite

I just did a quick Google, generally speaking you are correct but it's not set in stone, a careful judge could find ways if he/she really wanted to

I just know the sentence is going to piss the country off and for me personally wish that I could get out of this cesspit of a country. Absolute shithole now.

Im curious how a 17 year old can get brainwashed to such an extent that he will go and knife kids? Presumably his mother and father didn’t bring him up like that, so was he on forums? In touch with someone via WhatsApp?

This case is one where the Monarchy might prove useful for once

Detained at his Majesty's pleasure is a conceivalble sentence, the King and his succssor would presumably want to avoid the shitstorm that would inevitably ensue if release was considered even though it's usually a politician that advises them, no politician would want to be associated with releasing someone like this, that's why the likes of Myra Hindley, and Ian Brady were never released

Reading some of the family and survivor statements is really tough, and I’m not entirely sure I did the right thing in doing so. What an unbearably awful thing for them to go through.

I agree, I've just read the statements on the BBC website and it's gut wrenching.
I just cannot comprehend how someone could do this, nor can I imagine what the families of the 3 girls tragically killed are going through. The poor instructors impact statement choked me up.
