South Africa vs India

ffs, why is Sachin giving Harbhajan strike against Steyn?

Btw, what magnificent umpiring. They should get my MOTM award.

And the umpiring's been superb in this test.

This has been the best day of cricket I've seen for a long long long time. Take note flat pitch making curators.

Because it isn't easy getting a single even when the ball is talking the way it is.

I wouldn't take it on the 3rd ball.

More often than not in these conditions, Steyn would get Harbhajan given 3 consecutive balls.

Great minds eh :)

Seriously, it's been amazing. Some of those calls were ridiculously tough.

Yep. Not just this appeal against Harbhajan, some really good ones by both the umpires earlier in the day.

And Harbhajan goes bang. Six.

Bhajji has obviously realized he is not gonna last for long, so is just collecting some runs.

Nicely played. Steyn won't get more than 2 more overs, I guess. Play out those and might be able to get some runs like Kallis did.

What a shot by Harbhajan right now on Steyn's bowling.

Onions just called Sachin the greatest batsman ever, struggle to disagree.

Who is onions?

Whatever happens, what a great test match it's been. Would be one of the greatest achievements in my time of watching Indian cricket for us to win the series. Still reckon us batting last with roughly even first innings scores, SA are in pole position. They'll be unplayable when we bat last and it's hard to see us getting a big lead.

Sachin gets out, what an innings

341-8

364 all out.

Nice. Interesting to see what SA do. They wouldn't like to declare with too little, because we've got Sehwag.. I think a draw's quite likely.

They might be bowled out before thinking of declaring...

Have to say, really liking this Indian team so far. We've always had skillful players but nice to see this time they are giving SA a very tough fight on their home ground. Our record in 4th innings for the past few years hasn't been bad at all, however all of them were on sub continental pitches.

This is going to go down to the wire. I have a feeling Harbhajan's going to make a real difference. The ball was turning for Paul Harris and there's still the bounce that Bhajji likes.

Batting fourth on this pitch is going to be really difficult. You'd have to give the Saffricans a slight edge at this point.

52/2

Stumps.

Night watchman came in and didn't last long. More importantly, the ball turned a few feet for his dismissal.

Steyn's bowling today was some of the best i've ever seen. I don't think there was one ball that wasn't a threat. It was hostile, sustained and clever.

I don't think ever seen Tendulkar look as uncomfortable as he looked today - and it was while past a century. He could've been out 7 or 8 times!

The match is very poised now. If Harbhajan can get a 5 for and we can get them for under 250, we'll be the slight favourites. If they cross 250, they will be. The draw looks unlikely unless there's some serious time lost for rain.

Seriously, what a days cricket. Steyne was superb, as were a lot of other unlucky South African bowlers. And Sachin, somehow raised himself when his team needed him the most and got us to par despite the the way South Africa bowled.

Bhajji needs to run through them now...I will be confident of us chasing down anything below 225.

Yes!!

I was just about to have a moan about the lack of pace in our attack and Zaheer does that. Get Kallis and we have a chance of running right through.

I agree with crappy, anything around 225 and we should fancy ourselves.

Come on, we can do this!!

I wish the pundits would going on about luck going our way.

I don't know why we're persisting with Ishaant. Every run counts and he's given away 13 runs in his last 8 deliveries.

Anything over 200 and every run after that will be vital. We (SA) will fancy the uneven bounce on the wicket and if Steyn comes out steaming then this match will be far from over. I've seen India collapse spectacularly in the past when they should be strolling to victory...so let's wait and see.

He's the shittest bowler in a test playing nation that's not Bangladesh.

I think anything under 220 and we have a good chance. Problem is we seem to be struggling now with the older ball and aren't causing the current lot many problems. We need wickets and fast. We'll need most of today to chase down any score.

Yeah, that's true, despite chasing some good scores in recent times.
