South Africa vs India

Even more awesome. 74/4.

Hope this gives Sreesanth the confidence to bowl better after lunch.

Amla will not get out because he is playing against India, but I hope the rest of the team is bundled out quickly.

Zaheer is Brilliant.

 Yes.

Team tactics: Get everyone other than Amla out.

AMLA OUT!

Edit: Prince also out!

Do you know anything about Cricket?
Zaheer Khan is world class while Bhajji is better than decent.

India fully deserved their no.1 ranking

Great bowler but he's nowhere near a McGrath, Akram or Ambrose. Steyn's the only bowler from today's era that can really compare.

One more wicket, India doing their best to prove me wrong. :)

tbf mate, that's a pretty high standard you're setting.

Amazing catches from India just now
104/8

Zaheer Khan has always been a good talent, excellent by Indian pace bowling standards but he's merely good in comparison to the best of years gone by not world class.

131 all out.

Need to bat well and we really can win this! But don't trust our batsmen vs Steyn.

How we missed Zaheer in the first match.

I think you're under-rating how tough it is to get wickets on sub-continental pitches for fast bowlers. He averages below 25 over the past 2-3 years on these pitches, it's an incredible achievement.

Seriously, what is Zaheers average over the last 4 or 5 years? Would be interesting to see.

I rate him, always liked his bowling style and he's economical and dangerous on most pitches. I was just saying that we're not in a particularly strong era Bowling-wise at the moment.. we've just come out of a great one, one in which Zaheer was in and was recognised as an excellent bowler but not up there with other certain International contempories.

Would be interesting just to look at his stats on series' away from home so we can paint a fairer reflection.

This match will be over my mid day tomorrow one way or another. Our batsmen suck right now

Relax. They just scored more than 400 runs against World's best bowling in the previous test.

Sachin's out now.

WHY ARE THEY PLAYING SUCH RIDICULOUS SHOTS?

ffs

I feel like smashing my head in somewhere

going down 2-0

What's the record for the fastest completion of a test match ever?

Balasubramaniam from Berlin recalls a similar situation, from 2001 when India were playing West Indies in Trinidad. "Nine years back, in Port of Spain, India led by 74 and in second innings were 56/4 when Tendulkar left. Laxman sved the day with Sourav. Once again the same situation - will VVS come to the party with young Pujara?"

218/7 at Lunch

Great partnership between Zaheer and Laxman.

Laxman has been sublime as usual

It's amazing how Zaheer's turned his career around. He's one of those cricketers with a big heart. Shown great character to give Laxman company.

Agreed.

He was dead plumb though.

If it wasn't for Laxman, we wouldn't have been a no.1 side right now. He has been amazing in the last two three years.

Not going South Africa's way today.

Laxman's proving as reliable a second innings batsman as ever; it would have been curtains for India without them. Stonewall lbw turned down for Steyn - why no appeals in this one? Another one snicking the bails off that wasn't given too - could easily have been over for India 90 minutes before lunch. Zaheer hanging in well in support of VVS. Intriguing match so far, very entertaining.

VVS Laxman, take a bow!

That Ishaant Sharma dismissal pisses me off. For years our batsman have been getting out like that abroad. You'd have thought he'd pay a little attention to working on his batting. There is a short leg, stop fending the short ball.

It shaped a bit into his body, tough ball to play for a number 10.

Ishant's been working a lot on his batting, actually. Kirsten mentions this in every other interview.

Laxman brilliant, deserved a 100.

303, but I don't think we're going to win this.

I know it sounds harsh because he's a number 10, but it's not that hard to just decide not to poke at the short ball. Age-old problem.

This is going to be close. We need to take wickets regularly.

After the quick start I kind of lost hope and then those 3 wickets. Really need to get Kallis out very very early tomorrow if we're to win this.

Reckon we've fallen some 30-40 runs short of a good target.

very hard to call, india need a few early wickets tomorrow as if either one of the batsment settle it could be all over for india
