Son Heung-Min

So, Spurs have spent £22m on this dude.

Is he worth it in any way shape or form?

Seems like Spurs are just spending good money on very average forwards.

Again.

I dont think he is all that. Surprised that he is so highly rated on here, i always thought he is decent, but nothing special.

I think he's worth that and isn't it around 18m?

Got a great shot on him and gets goals from the wings. I think he'll be very good for the Spurs. Good age too.

Actually he is a great prospect I think and he can play anywhere across the attacking positions - has a very good goalscoring record considering he often plays wide and at over 6 foot I suspect he will catch a lot of fullbacks out this season on the far post.

Has been playing in th BL since he was 18 so I dont think the physicality of the PL will phase him (though pochotinos relentless closing down will possibly take a it of getting used to but he is no different to most other players in that respect)

potentially a good partner for Kane up top - though I hope they buy berahino as well and flog is kane but I doubt that will actually happen.

Over 200 top flight and international games and has only just turned 23... if this guy was English he would have cost double what he has so all in all I think its a good move for them

I like him. Bit overpriced but for such a late move it's alright. Better fit for Spurs than most of their recent signings.

Haven't seen much of him so I can say with conviction that he's average and Spurs have overspent.

He's good player but don't think he has that high potential from what i've seen.

Will be interesting how he adapts to PL.

I like him but in reality he's probably not that much better than that Belgian attacking midfielder I can't remember the name of. Definitely doesn't have the potential of Lamela but should be much more useful in the short term.

He hasn't improved one bit since his Hamburg days. His best season is still his last at Hamburg. He has been consistently decent, which isn't bad at all. But I doubt anyone in Germany understands why his price has tripled over the last 2 years or why the least important attacker in that Leverkusen team leaves for so much money. I really liked him when he broke through at Hamburg, maybe the change suits him and he finally makes another step. I hope he does. It's definitely crazy money for him though and what I've read from Leverkusen fans, they were all very happy to see him leave for that kind of money.

I don't think he'll struggle with Pocchettino's tactics. Roger Schmidt at Leverkusen uses an even more intense pressing in my opinion and the attackers always had to close done the opponents relentlessly.

He was very good on FM for Leverkusen in FM 13.

It'll be interesting to see him in the PL, i've always got a soft spot for the players from the far east.

Queue endless "Damn, Son!" jokes when he does well/poorly.

How long before Glaston declares him the best player in the PL, who would walk into our team, and explains why this makes Spurs the greatest team in the world ever?

He'll definitely do well IMO. Fast, direct, and can score goals. I reckon he'll get 10-15 goals this season in all competitions.

A very good signing. He'll do well at Spurs. Improves their forward line which is really lacking. Being two-footed is handy too.

He'll score a couple of screamers in his first few games, making Glaston wank himself to oblivion and the rest of the caf to rage as to why we signed him, only to disappear for the new few matches. Rinse and repeat.

He's a fairly well known name and he played for years in a major league which would be heavily scouted by big clubs.

There's a reason he signed for Spurs. I'm going to write him off.

Yep. Moussa Dembele/Sissoko/Paulinho/Capoue style.

So what does this guy actually do? I don't watch lots of Spurs live, but from what I see on MOTD etc, he never seems to be involved in much good they do. Incredibly anonymous. 2 goals from 19 league appearances... a new Heskey?

He fits Spurs style very well. He plays at 100% intensity and never gives the opposition any rest. He's absolutely nothing like Heskey. He's not even a striker.

That all makes sense apart from "nothing like Heskey". A forward who isn't really a striker but works really hard, causing the opposition a lot of bother by running around without threatening the goal much?

It was a lazy and poor comparison. edit: a bit like Heskey.

I thought he's been pretty good. Probably not worth the transfer fee but he's been a decent signing.

This isn't the Welbeck thread
