Never forget
Reminds me of this so must be the same guy or his brother:
Never forget
If he's this good, why is he costing us only 20+million? In his contract?
He only has a year left on his contract. There is a release clause I think, but it's something like €60m.
Fiorentina are willing to sell him for a lot less than that as he'll probably leave for nothing otherwise.
Because we don't have the moneyWhy are we not in for Caceido?
I am unconvinced by Amrabat. There's a reason by nearly age 27 (DOB 21.08.96) he hasn't played for a top club. Also, we are all aware how the world cup shouldn't be a showcase on which decisions to buy players are made.

What was Cantona's reason for not having played at a top club before the age of 26?
Also, Caicedo costs £100m, and Amrabat is £20m.
You want to pay £100m for a back-up? Not that we have the money for it, anyway. Amrabat isn't coming here to be a starter.
Arguably the French league was around the same level if not better than the English league at the time. What was Cantona's reason for not having played at a top club before the age of 26?

Cantona played for big teams in France. Bordeaux and Marseille. I don’t think this was a good example. This wasn’t a farmers league either.

They are wanted. United's player transfer business has never been top level - if it was, at least 3 players would be out already bringing in 60m at least. We've sold Elanga and can sell more - the money would be there if we got business done. And how do you do that when no one is willing to pay good money for our players? Get the outs done, have the money then go for shopping and buy class players. How cool.
Cantona was an Enfant Terrible who went from club to club. You surely know that story as a United fan? Besides, comparing Cantona with Amrabat! What was Cantona's reason for not having played at a top club before the age of 26?

Because Cantona was a precocious talent. Amrabat is not.
How?
Besides, frankly, football back then, 30 years ago, was not something you can compare with now.
Name me 5 players who having never played for a top 5 club in Spain, Italy, France or Germany have then gone on to play at a top 5 club in England or those countries and been successful?
Honestly, I have watched Amrabat and have never been convinced he's a world class player, good enough to help a United win the league or Champions league. If he was, he wouldn't have been at Fiorentina, Hellas Verona and Club Brugge for the past 5 years.
My point was that Cantona was not wanted by any top clubs for most of his youth and early twenties because of his temperament.
yeah i get that, was just responding to the precocious bit..
anyway, Amrabat isn't a top top player in my book so we're loosely in agreement. But i do think he's going to be a good squad option at a cheap price. i'd much prefer him to either Fred or Mctominay in that deeper role, and overall he gives us more tactical flexibility and more balanced midfield options. Makes a lot of sense if we can shift one or both of the other two.
Wasn't Bordeaux just a loan where he barely played?
Same for Marseille iirc, he was their player but wasn't played much.
To be considered a top player in a top team, you should be one of their main players, no?
He’ll be starting beside Casemiro imo. If ten hag is sticking with a 2, amrabat will be there. Don’t be fooled by the price tag; he will be the bargain of the summer. Another mentality monster. What was Cantona's reason for not having played at a top club before the age of 26?

Mbappe?
Probably do a better job of it than Maguire.Pfft can he sit deep and defend headers and long balls like Maguire ?

@modsBut ETH and the club have addressed something I was raising here for sometime till I was branded a City fan.
In January when people were positive around here, I was the most critical especially with how our midfield was getting overrun. My judgment for ETH i said will be determined by how he conducts his summer business.
We’ve had 2 major problems in our club since 2013.
1. Wrong diagnosis of the problem.
2. Wrong treatment of the said diagnosis.
We’ve been getting wrong, what problems we have, I turn getting wrong medication for the wrong diagnosis. This has made us be in a circle loop of underperformance & mistakes.
Even here on Cafe people thought out problem is just having a striker. I said, even if we buy Kane & Osihmen alone we won't win the league.
You need to win 28 games minimum to have a shot on the league, that can not be carried by 1 or 2 players. You need the whole players to pull it's weight behind the club.
You need to win 21-22 games comfortably in a season. Not those last minute gasp goals, no just winning through control then even a deflection. So essentially you need to have a team that can control a 22 games in a season.
Then you need another 6-7 games which you will win through hard work, and holding on to the lead.
Then another 4 games which you draw either through coming back from defeat mostly.
So for you to achieve this, it's not a matter of signing Kane, no it's a matter of how does the team play in 28 games which can have high probability of winning. For sure you can't win with the game we played of 90% of our team not comfortable on the ball.
So this was the main problem first. I said we needed players who can stay with the ball atleast 5-10 seconds when under immense pressure. This is extremely vital as it gives other players, time to breath, regroup, find better passing angles, etc. Biggest culprits were our midfielders and De Gea. You saw how De Gea would just kick the ball without big pressure then it brings more pressure on us.
Eliminate that first, then all other team deficiencies will come up, then address them thereafter, which will make you a solid team, almost immediately.
But us we were starting solving winning league problem by getting wrong diagnosis then in turn getting wrong the medication. End result this unending loop of big money spent while little to show.
I can tell you ETH has really grasp where our problems lies. I've watched united for the last 25 years. All my other accounts were banned here since 2013 for being critical to the team.
I can tell you for free, we have a person who knows our problems precisely and crucially, he knows how to solve them.
So, worry not mate. Everything will work out. If Pep was not around I would bet with my house we would win the league in 2024. 100%.
This is just a lazy assessment. Why are we not in for Caceido?

I bet the Caf will be fuming at United and Ten Hag if Klopp is signing him, but if he’s coming to us, he’s gonna be unconvincing as a player
I'm not sure he's much of an upgrade on either to be honest.
Here we go another Mount/Hojlund situation where people are writing him off already
If we’d actually went all out and and got Oles targets we’d possibly have Bellingham and Camavinga in the engine room and Haaland up front. It’s kind of depressing tbh.
