He has potential to be just what we need, but just like Onana has too many mistakes in him (none today thankfully). Freed up Mainoo a better version of him in front of a settled cb pairing will instantly improve us.
His best game for United and he saved it for the FA Cup final. Well done to him. Not sure if we need to make his transfer permanent, but if we do hopefully the transfer fee isn't too high.

Agree... he should have had many more chances this year, same like Amad.Mistakes made when rusty and played at left back, or after played any at all.
Allegedly the fee is £21m (€25m) but I'm sure we can cancel the agreement and negotiate a new one. He's entering the last year of his contract for Fiorentina. No other club will pay that much for him on his final year.
If it gets negotiated at £12.5 (€15m) I reckon it's a fair price for him. He's 27 not 33, even if he player like a 33yo some times.
Always worries me when he turns like that. He turns like an oil tanker, and that's when the mistake usually comes.Great game, can't say I didn't get a little nervous when he keep turning back with a load of City players chasing him down.
Funny you who care so much about passing and press resistance are championing him so when he moves like an oil tanker.A few of us were calling for this for so long. At least we eventually played them together and it resulted in a very strong end to the season. Narrowly losing to Arsenal and beating all of Newcastle, Brighton and City.
But in those 3 supposedly good games, we had 26% possession and sat really deep and compact in one, we lost one deservedly and won a bit luckily while still conceding many many shots. Which isn't great when talking about a player who is supposed to be there for his defensive qualities.Strangely he even dealt with the City press fine today. Like a completely different player than appeared against Brighton. That, combined with his work defensively, made him my MOM for this one.
He has had some shockers this season, but I do think people exaggerate them. He's had at least as many games where he's been decent-to-good. And in these last four games where he's played in a more normal set-up with another midfielder actually helping him out, he's had three good games and one admittedly very bad game.
I wouldn't bring him back, but I'll remember his time here fairly fondly. He always worked his arse off.
That's a great compliment
I was expecting him to put in huge performances 5 rows off the pitch tooThanks for the memories. Was hoping for more.

The pass was behind him to be fair to him. Hojlund was fouled which made the pass into Amrabat a bad one.Good performance despite some limitations during the game (eg always backpassing). I was bit upset when he went forward in the last seconds, and he just fell over.
