If Ten Hag had his way, we’d have signed this guy for £30 million with the money from McTominay. Frightening.

Yeah but his cultists will try to have you believe that we signed him against ETH's will.

He's awfully mediocre. No wonder our only competition for him was Nottingham who were not even trying that hard.

Probably the worst player I've seen in a utd shirt. Don't like being unkind but this is a forum for honest views.

Nah, he's poor but he's better than some dross we've had.

Worst for me is between Falcao and Donny. Both were awful.

I don't think County were interested.

feck me, what a summer that was! The giddyness after we signed him on loan, after signing di Maria!

Some of you underestimate what consistent game time does to player’s confidence and performance levels. Would he have been as bad as Casemiro this year if he played instead? Im not sure.

He's certainly in the running for this title.

Like others have mentioned, he's 27 years of age and his most notable club has been a midtable Italian club. What was actually excepting, he's been a bloody disaster.

It really was. I thought he would be brilliant but my overriding memory of his was him just falling over every time he tried to do anything.

Yes. And that's with me recognising Casemiro has been terrible. This guy just doesn't have the right level to deal with the intensity of the league.

How many games has be actually started as a DM?

he still looks overweight, like he’s just reporting back for preseason training

The fact we have been getting run through in midfield so easily and he hasn't even been given a run tells you all you need to know.

The manager doesn't trust him because he knows he's out of his depth.

9 times in midfield for us and most of our big matches against the better teams until he went to play for his country in the Afcon. After that he hasnt had many chances but 9 is more than enough to show you should be playing vs. what our other midfielders have shown. Also theres Mount's injury and now Casemiro being an emergency CB. If you arent doing well enough to be picked instead of Eriksen in current form you're not a good player. He played 4 games for his country in Jan, the last of which he got sent off as South Africa beat Morocco 2-0 and knocked them out and sent him back home. So he has no excuse for not being fit.

I'm surprised he didn't play against Palace considering the injuries we had and the fact that he can run a bit faster than Eriksen who was so far off the pace it was ridiculous. Regardless, I dread to think about tomorrow's midfield match up.

Think it is just his build. Least agile player Ive seen in Man Utd.

Yeah, he seems similar in build to Casemiro. Not inherently a bad thing but basically the absolute worst kind of DM you could put in our suicidal midfield setup where your 6 is required to cover an airport runway's worth of space.

Defensively, despite his mistakes on the ball he seems a far better option than Eriksen defensively. But going forward he hasnt shown vision or a pass like Eriksen has. Eriksen can play a nice pass in for a teammate and is good at set pieces. Defensively he's shambolic and doesnt have the right profile or character to play deep in our midfield. He doesnt react, he is a poor tackler and ball collecter he loses all his 50/50s, hes not very determined etc... If we want any hope of being fairly solid Amrabat should be playing instead of Eriksen. Even though he isnt good enough

I think the buy option would trigger if he plays a certain number of minutes for us and is probably why ETH refuses to play him even with all the injury problems we have.

I do kinda like that he left Feyenoord in part because he refused to play as a back and here he is, being shite as a back.

Just goes to show. If you're not good enough for Feyenoord, chances are you arent good enough for United.

I'm wholly convinced we'd have been better off this season if we had played him at DM from the start instead of Case and given him time to get used to the Premier League.

Not saying he's a world beater or anything, but he'd at least offer a much more solid base.

Thought he was decent, was getting around and showing for the ball. Probably should start the final next to mainoo

He did well considering the circumstances but his passing is very limited.

Had decent moments throughout but also so many dreadful moments with the ball. Nowhere near good enough for next season still

Maybe but ETH would still have us playing 4-2-4 so overall it wouldn't have made much of a difference.

If we keep to last seasons 4-2-3-1 then yes I'd agree.

He's been dealt a bad hand though, same with Amad, both who should have many more minutes than what they've been given.

He’s shite. Fair play that he will work hard but his quality is shocking

Today was one of his better games and even that’s a 6/10 performance

For every one thing he does right he will feck 3 things up. Standards on the floor if people thought that was good.

Yeah, that's fair.

Comfortably better than Eriksen in the midfield 2 DMs, however he gave the ball away frustratingly 3 or 4 times with loose passes that Arsenal were ready to pounce on. Not something you can have from a player in his position

I'd have given him 7/10 if it wasn't for 2 dreadful passes that could've resulted in big chances for Arsenal. Still, given Casemiro's peformances this season you do wonder if it was better to start Amrabat besides Mainoo more often. Possibly we we would have looked more solid.

Good busy first hour then started to make a few bad errors.

If nothing else his energy would have benefited a few of the midfield set ups this season.

He did play well for Morocco at the WC in a low block. So, not a surprise he did okay today.

We could've had a better season if Erik played to his players strength.
