Man tells hysterical woman don't worry, he's not going to put it on Instagram. Not only puts it on Instagram but is even selling T-shirts about it.
There's a cruelty about this incident which is disproportionate to the offence, in my view.
Well, just one fake story a) gives ammunition to people who want to disprove true and important stories and b) ruins lives. I can't imagine what it's like to be doxxed.Yeah kinda shitty about meme/clickbait culture are those chasing clout for their insta-stories. With all the real and very horrendous examples or racism, you'll get the occasional Jussie Smollett so its important to not always deploy the pitchforks too quickly
She's hysterical, highly strung, and overly emotional. So Karen or nah?
She's hysterical, highly strung, and overly emotional.
I wouldn't call her a Karen, though.
A Karen specifically exists at the high privilege intersection between white race, female gender, middle class, middle age and self righteous politics. And they use that high privilege to domineer and condescend to people who they see as inferior.
I see no evidence of Karen-ness from the woman in question. Yes, she cries for sympathy. But I think lots of women would do that in this circumstance. It's not exclusive to Karens.
Decent shout. That's a reasonable possibility. She is having a panic attack.
I think August Ames (former pornstar) killed herself because of twitter abuse."Do your thing Twitter" is gonna lead to someone topping themselves eventually, if it hasn't already.

What do they mean by that?I know people mention that twitter is a hyperactive echo-chamber that doesn't allow nuanced debate but a significant number of people on there, more than usual for these sort of public shaming events are blaming the guy as a grifter

Writer does his best to destroy the black guy's character without proving any of his own assertions. Thats what I read.Interesting read and looks like there's definitely more than meets the eye with this, but also an incredible amount of ignorance, white privilege and whitesplaining displayed by the writer.
Remember in the video, he has literally just got out of her car, not thinking calmly having just been abused. Also, he knows he doesn't have evidence of it, so difficult to make the claim.
He mentions it several times in the longer film below after 8 min.
I believe him, because he was so affronted, and because of the woman's hysterics.
What do they mean by that?
I've seen the original video being shared all over Facebook and the reactions are as expected when people see the "Karen" title.
It just shows how gullible a majority of humans are (no matter the race, nationality, gender, etc.) and how easy it is to manipulate by using current events that create strong division and emotion in people.
An opportunistic con artist or swindler. Basically exploited the very real cultural moment people are having in terms of calling out problematic behaviour to gain viral fame by making hyperbolic or untrue accusations.

On the subject of social media going against type, am I the only one who finds his decision to go with an Instagram story as his public shaming tool of choice a little unusual?

Oldest and crudest trick in the book when trying to reduce credibility of a person of colour.
Then maybe it was some 4D marketing in trying to attract a load of KKK and Alt Right customers?
No, that's exactly what Karens are.Not all Karen’s are white. Or female. Or middle class. Or middle age.
It’s the entitlement and attitude that defines.
The article says 'he has no proof to say if it happened or not' before then launching a staunch opinion piece on why it didn't happen, despite zero proof. Destroying his character while painting her as the poor victim. It's really actually a shocking read on second viewing. Whether she said it or not is a story on its own, but the logical fallacies and mental gymnastics on display in this article have nothing to do with whether or not she said it, and just serve to take a side despite zero evidence either way.
I'm not sure this "Karen" would agree to having her license plate and home address shared online knowing what would follow. He's selling Karen themed tshirts for feck sake
Attention seeker and opportunist sounds about right. I wouldn't be surprised if any and all 'Karens' were in on it.
There’s loads we don’t know. But everything negative the lady may have done relies entirely on one person’s version of events.
What we do know is that this man followed a middle aged woman - who was on her own - all the way to her home in his car, pulled up right behind her, blocking her in, then confronted her and didn’t let up even after she was a hysterical, weeping mess. An entirely one-sided confrontation in which she was submissive and clearly terrified throughout.
So it doesn’t take a lot of joining of the dots to conclude that maybe there’s more to this than another Karen getting what she deserves.
Totally agree with you. One of the main reasons I use social media and forums like this one is to see how people in general respond to different situations, topics, discussions, events, reports. My findings mostly make me even more depressed than usual, so in a cynical and dark way, I try to find some humour in such things to keep myself as sane as possible. If you frame something a certain way, people can be conned. I mean in general not just with regards this latest incident.
There is a famous story about a kid in school who gave a presentation about how dangerous the chemical "dihydrogen monoxide" is. "It can burn you as a gas. It causes global warming. It erodes granite." The student said this as a presentation and all the other students agreed. But dihydrogen monoxide is just another name for water.
The moral is, if you frame something a certain way, you can determine how people react.

is a typical karen response to get back people slammed.I don’t know what happened. But anyone that treats someone in that level of distress, like that... is a cnut. feck them.
Just because you (May) have right on your side, doesn’t allow you to treat another like a punchbag.
feck all garbage people.
