England score another try directly from a Welsh feck up. Laughable, absolutely laughable.

Embarrassed by both Ireland and England in one season. No Plan B. Riddled with errors. Warrenball has been found out and the useless twunt has no idea how else to get his teams to play.

Well done England, they were flawless. I think they'll win the lot, because Ireland will lose to France in Paris.

They were excellent at taking advantage of Wales schoolboy errors, actually you wouldn't see that at schoolboy level. They were no great shakes. Ireland are the team that deserves this title.

Wales were making the errors because England knew how to play them, though. It was the exact same story in the Ireland game.

Great strength in depth for England, when you consider that was a matchday 23 without the likes of;

Vunipola, Tuilagi, Cole, Corbisiero (and potentially Yarde and Wade)

Add Croft, Parling and Foden. It's a big injury list but credit to Lancaster and his team dealt with it very well. Looking at 9 out of England match day 23. You are right the strength in depth for England is great your looking at 35 + internationals to pick from. That's not including the real top class young potential coming through for England like Eliot Daly, Tom Lindsay, Jack Walker, Matt Hopper, Anthony Watson and Sam Burgess to come in too.

Not many negatives for England but a few. The penalties and I think May and Nowell were pretty average today. Some nice moments, but that's it. I believe Yarde and Wade would have made more of today.

With Wales what has James Hook done wrong? Surely he must be a better option at 10 right now.

I have very limited knowledge about Rugby but I do watch it whenever its on the telly. Have been watching the Six nations on and off and must say I enjoy it. Just had a couple of question.
How many times can the attacking team get tackled, roll the ball back and start the move again?
How is it that the player who has been tackled is able to actually free himself enough to pass the ball back to a teammate in the middle of the pile up?

In Rugby Union you can do this as many times as you like.

I think that addresses what your asking here but if not just ask! There are so many rules in rugby that even people who've been playing years often find themselves learning something new so I can imagine how confusing it can be for people who've never played the game.[/quote]

Thanks mate. I must say its amazing how well behaved the players are with regards to the refs decision considering it is such a physical sport.

Farrell is having an excellent kicking game today.
He looked shakey coming into this tournament and even had a poor starter against France but has really got it together against Ireland and Wales. Looks like he will have a good stint in the English shirt. A great find. Is it Ford who will be his main challenger now that Flood has signed for a French team and is no longer considered for England?

You're probably thinking of Rugby League for the first question - in that code there is essentially no competition for the ball, so they have a rule that possession must be handed over before the 6th tackle. There is no limit in Rugby Union (the Six Nations is played under this code).

When the tackler and tackled player go to ground, the former is supposed to immediately let go of the ball, and the latter let go of the player. There's then a brief moment where players coming in may compete for the ball with hands, but after a ruck is formed, nobody else may do so. There's a grey area as to who gets penalised first but generally, tackled players are given enough time to place the ball.

If you look at the last crucial penalty in the Scotland-France game, I believe it was awarded because the Scottish tackler did not properly release the French player before competing for the ball. However, this wasn't made clear in the commentary or match reports I read - probably because the commentators/reporters weren't too sure themselves - which in itself says a lot about how confusing it can be.

I actually think there's an error in that video around 2:10. If a ball is unplayable from a collapsed maul, then a scrum is normally awarded to the defending side. This is the reason that Ireland pioneered the successful tactic of holding a tackled player off the ground, turning it into an unplanned maul, allowing it to come down, and then ending up with possession.

He will be, I always thought Ford and Burns had better talent but credit to Farrell he is defiantly earning his 10 shirt right now.

Exactly, those are England's best players. England looking very very good for the World Cup.

On home ground, with the momentum building towards next year, they will be very hard to beat.

For next weekend, this is Ireland's to lose. They will know what they have to do going into the game, which is probably just win by a point. Engalnd haven't beaten Italy by over 50 points in 15 years and I can't see it happening this year. If Ireland win, it will mean the trophy.

France still have a chance but need to win by England's margin+29 or summat.

just a day to go........COME ON IRELAND, LET'S BEAT THOSE FRENCHIE BASTARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

video replaced. Doesn't have fupping Wogan talking over it.

So, it all comes down to whether Ireland can beat France in France

I can't see England making a contest of it by getting a huge win over Italy, think they'll do about 25-30pts, so will be down to Ireland, and I expect them to do it, BOD's career has almost been one success after another, so expect him to score a crucial late try

Too many errors early on but decent in the end from England. Really hope we see George Ford and Man Utd for a good 30 mins in second half.

Italy 11 England 52. Only second time Italy have conceded 50 points in 3 years so an impressive away score for England. The BBC are making a big deal out of the Italy try at the end I doubt it would have mattered. England would have needed to score at least 3 tries if not more in 8 minutes. England realistically needed to beat Italy by 60+ which was never going to happen.

Nasty, calculated hit from Hogg as well, fully deserved. Good refereeing to overturn his own decision after seeing the replay on the big screen, he could have left it to be retrospectively overturned.

I can see them scrape it in the last second, just to put an end to BOD'S career.

Sexton's going to cost us the game.

Sexton is going to cost Ireland the championship here. These are kicks he should be making with his eyes closed.

Dreadful from Sexton. He's normally a lot better than this. Both the conversion and the penalty were kicks he should have made easily.

Is the pressure of the situation getting to him?

Jonny Sexton bottling it when it really matters? What's new?

Everyone is judged these days by Halfpenny standards, the pressure affects these other mere mortals.

Pressure is a given at the highest level. Sexton can't cut it.
