Silvestre leaving as well

Rather him stay than watch United fail to bring in a reliable backup.

Testimonials should be reserved for the greats not players like Silvestre. Although I suppose someone playing ten years for the club might be worthy.

I would be pleased if he chose to stay with us for next season. However if he feels that he deserves first team football at his age then I wont hold it against him. 10 years is a long time at one club for a foreigner and he is entitled to a change if he wants.

As WSR reported last week, Werder Bremen have signed 33-year-old French defender Mikael Silvestre on a free transfer from Arsenal. Silvestre spent two seasons at Arsenal after joining in the summer of 2008, making 26 appearances for the London-based club.

“I’m very satisfied to have signed a contract at Werder Bremen. This is the start of yet another foreign adventure for me. I will do my utmost to adapt to my new surroundings as soon as possible and will try to help the younger players at the club,” Silvestre told Bremen’s official website.

Now on ESPN as a pundit

Wonder if we will see more of him on there covering their European matches seems as he played in Germany as well.
