Should we consider selling Pogba?

While his performance wasn't great in first half, that goal was a class quality moment that single handedly brought us back into the game. Fair play to him.

Danny Mills thought Pogba was exceptional on MOTD, enough said.

The sight of him threatening to break into a light jog whilst 'tracking back' just makes my blood boil.

A good finish, fair enough. Hopefully will convince someone to buy him

Great goal and solid 2nd half performance but I'd stil rip someone's hand off if a club out there were willing to offer 50 million.

Great way to silence the booing opposition fans and booing United fans.

Silence? A goal was good, but what happened to the rest of 89 min? Pogba's involvement was a lot, as much as McTom, but his weakness was also very visible as well, apart from the 1st goal that we conceded.

Fantastic finish, but it hardly "singlehanded" it was put on a plate for him by Bruno to finish, which he did with style, but it's not like he beat half the west ham team on his own.

It's a long range shot. Bruno did really well in the build up but shooting from such distance is mostly individual brilliance from the player.

Pogba makes too much for his returns. Absolutely sell him and buy a proper defensive midfielder.

good goal but holding your hands to your ear? It’s little things like this that make me despise him. Happy to sell him off. One goal doesn’t make up for the several terrible games he’s had.

I am by no means a fan of Pogba but I think the ear thing was him responding to abuse he was receiving from the West Ham fans during the game

It was for the West Ham fans. Calm your tits ffs.

Carry on booing Black Lives Matter, mate. Idiot.

I don't think midfielder performance should be judged by the number of goals scored. If he was playing in attacking mid position then fair enough, his job is to attack. But in midfield he has many more duties at which he is bang average. So I don't see why we should overlook all that because he scored a goal.
I just hope next game this "but he scored a great goal" will not be an argument to get him in the team. Again, he is not a natural midfielder, so let's just not force that.

Typical Bruno game the majority of the time. What’s the problem?

Great finish but every shot's a side foot with him.
Lesser players can put their laces through the ball with accuracy.
I've yet to see him do it.
Makes me think he doesn't trust his technique.

He didn’t play well in the first half, but then again no one else did either. Thought he was much better in the second half and his was hugely down to Bruno’s ability to find space. It was no surprise that we managed to get the ball forward to him lots, as that is something Pogba is very good at.

Everyone knows he isn’t going to be the best defensively in a midfield two, this has never ever been the case.

What are you talking about. Of all the things to critique him for, this probably the weirdest.

the poster is criticising Pogba, and his “hands to ears”. That doesn’t bother me, but I would also that is down to the criticism that Pogba has been getting? Quite a common thing for players to do who are being criticised. Whether we think that’s justified or not is a different question.

Unless I’ve missed something, it’s got nothing to do with BLM? Does it?

Thought he was brilliant yesterday, some people on here really have a chip on their shoulder, criticising him for hitting the ball with his side foot!! Ridiculous.
Helped out defensively, looked for the right pass going forward.
First half was poor from everyone, but he was the player taking the initiative in the second half.

He wasn't brilliant but that second half was best we have seen from him for ages. Long may it continue (It won't we all know it though)

Unless he signs a new contract or is even offered one he will be leaving in 6 months time and I think it's best for all parties. No way has he earned a huge contract and no doubt massive payrise that will go with it. With a year left we should get 40m for him.

Happy for him yesterday but his days at the club are numbered.

Its killing his career though. Nobody can afford to have a luxury player at number 6.

This! The West Ham fans were heckling heckling him the entire time (for, reasons?).

Hyperbolic reactions to everything Pogba does is probably part of the reason why he wants to leave.

I don’t think he’s ever been a six. He wants to drive forward and a six can’t do that. If you take away his ability to beat a man, or drive the ball forward, you’re taking away half his strengths.

He seems lost at the moment and it’s actually pretty sad to see.

More ball recoveries than anyone on the pitch. He's never going to be a Kante stopping any threat coming through the middle, but he worked hard yesterday and also had an impact going forward, not much more we can ask from someone playing in a double pivot.

I'm guessing the Millwall/West ham thing as in an excuse to boo a black player, but imo it was most probably to intimate a 'marquee' player. Put him off doing what he did to them in the 2nd half.

They are bunch of rascist c.. so can't blame him for not giving benefit of doubt.

Thats mostly the problem with Pogba. You're right, he isnt a six. What is he?

Your last sentence is interesting.

And playing crap most of the time may also be a reason.

It's actually a very common and effective technique of winning an internet debate. Whenever you disagree with one's point, but have nothing to back yours , you simply call them racist and that's it, you now emerge as the superior internet being. Previously popular, currently less used iterations of the same method include implying the other person to be homosexual or 'a plastic'.

Yeah no... that kind of shot, it's purely on the scorer. It's too far to be "set up" or anything, and look at the trajectory of the ball, we are actually lucky he can whip it with that kind of power at that distance. This was a defining moment for us in the game, and it's good. Hopefully, confidence and work rate go up with that.

He doesn't play as a six guys. Where does that come from? In France and at United, he plays as a 8 who is tasked to open up the play from behind. He *is* allowed to move forward, but he has to time it intelligently. That understanding with the team has been lacking but is coming back hopefully.

This. The club will have to make a decision soon one way or another and as you say there’s no way he’s shown enough to justify a new and improved contract, and even then he’d have to be willing to sign it which seems pretty doubtful to me.

Great goal. Lets hope his stocks have risen and we can get 80-90 mil. for him next summer.

1 good finish doesn’t change my opinion that he’s not suited to this league. He plays at too slow a tempo. We can’t rely on other players constantly bailing him out. The game yesterday changed when Bruno came on, he created so many chances I think we would have won anyway. Pogba wasn’t the game changer

Because you can clear it further, than with your head?

I knew this thread would be bumped. Think he had some good periods when he tried to control the game, the only shot on target, great pass to greenwood. He hasn't played for long, so it's understandable he'd be a bit rough, however he also had some bad spell. Is it all his mistake, we're playing absolute dogshite football, against the average WHU side? Look at all the clueless play we try, wewould have to sell everyone in the team..

We should start with hiring a new manager before it happens. Ole can see what's goingon and he should change it if he wasn't brave to change it during the half, not talking about subs but the general tactics. or at least motivate his players to be more urgent. If we can't see a drastic change in second half we should be seriously looking at a managerial change rather sooner than later before.

Not selling a single player who is not at fault.
We don’t need to sell them all. Bruno changed the game in 45 minutes. The team just needed someone to create something and get them going. We would have lost that game, playing zombie football if Bruno hadnt come on; and a big part of that reason is Pogba slowing play down
