Should we consider selling Pogba?

Not sure if I want to see him go yet.

He is getting his fitness on peak and beginning to perform like a boss.

Modern footballers are like that, I can live with the drama, but I don't want to see him playing for other teams.

We've had him a long time. We've seen him fit before. He's never been good enough for long enough. The fact he may be good enough for another team doesn't change that.

Time to move on mate. He’s on 290k p/w, he has weakness that prevent us to play the same formation against different opposition and he‘s unhappy here. As long as we bring replacement for him we will be fine, get a creative right winger to replace his creativity outlet and get a new midfielder that is discipline defensively but still offer something with passing.

I still want him out in summer but I'm fine with benefiting from what he has for now even if it's as inconsistent as ever. As long as he's part of the squad, we should use him, but comes summer and if he still doesn't want to extend his contract then sell without regret. The money we will get from him might be a huge asset if spent well.

I am a massive Pogba fan but I think his time at the club is over. It's all about money for him, his skillset doesn't fit the club and you don't want someone like Raiola close to the likes of Greenwood.

Bruno is not on pogbas level as a footballer. He has been more efficient for us i'll give you that.
Doesn't matter that Pogba is the better footballer when he hardly shows it on the field for us anyway.

Pogba isn't good enough to justify the off field baggage he comes with as well. The sooner we get rid of him and his circus, the better.

Can anybody enlighten me on why Pogba drives a van to training?

So does Wan Bissaka and I don't understand.

Pogba brings the balls and WB brings the cones.

if he wants to stay keep him. Still our best player bar none.
You serious? Since Bruno came he has proved what a consistent top class midfieder offers. We had our pants pulled down and ass slapped the day we bought Pogba for a then world record fee.

bruno is head and shoulders above Pogba. Took Bruno no time to make a difference. It took Pogba 4 years to understand that dancing is not part of the game.

it’s ok to defend Pogba or to state your view supporting him, but statements like this make you lose credibility mate.

How is he our best player? Is it because he won the world cup with france? How does him being our best player translate in numbers with the team?

also, he doesn’t want to stay. He’s been acting (he and his agent) that he is bigger than the club. Let him go.

People forget how shit our midfield was before pogba and how he individually carried us for long periods. It hasn't been as good as we hoped but lets not pretend whatever team in the world he goes to he won't be their best midfielder immediately.

Pogba will stay until summer to see if we can sneak a PL title win this year and leave in a high.

Most talented? Yes.

Best? No.

Consistent impact is what makes a difference - not being able to roulette a defender every once in a while. Pogba had a good game yesterday but let's not get carried away, Fernandes has been head and shoulders above him since he joined.

Can you give me a long period when Pogba individually carried us? With details and facts to support that please.

Probably not every team.

Yesterday I was joking with a Barca mate about this.

He told me we could buy Griezmann for £80m. And we can keep the £20m just for keeping Pogba away from them...

World class players will perform near their peak levels almost every week, That's what we see with Bruno. Pogba has as many poor games as great games. He's not shown himself to be anywhere near world class in years. Combined with the fact that he's always angling for a move away, we might as well get rid asap.

Pogba pre-ankle injury and Mourinho meltdown was arguably the best midfielder we have. People automatically forgotten that just because we didn't win a league title or cups for so long.

That doesn't change when Bruno has arrived. Different skillsets and mentality.

Bruno is the best in attacking output, but if he been asked to do what Pogba can do, he will struggle too.

They are players with the same Pedigree, Pogba been at the peak first, Bruno reached that level with us.

Pogba on his day is world class, no doubt about that.

And this is based on?

And this is based on?

His direct passing isn't the same as Pogba's spreading passes. Pogba's the one who is spreading from either flank, we haven't that much from Bruno, or it's not his forte.

Edit:
A fit Pogba can do that casually. This is the time he is finally fit after many setbacks.

Do you know direct passing is much more difficult than spreading pass?

You can find many CM in the PL who are pretty good with spreading the ball to the flanks, or from the flanks. But very rare you can find a good one with direct passing.

Me in contrast, of the opinion that what Pogba could Bruno could. But not everything Bruno could Pogba could. For example his flicks and super quick passing through the lines.

11:55 Have you ever seen Pogba doing such? That's a perfect touch and a perfect through ball, in about 1.5 - 2 seconds.

He will stay until summer because Raiola isn't able to broker a deal with anyont in January. There are no takers at present.

That's probably why in my opinion. No one can or will buy him right now. United may be a very very low underdog of sneaking a title win when you look at stats and league positions and when you look at how he is suddenly playing better than ever when he is almost guaranteed to leave it all seems to be coming together where he could potentially be playing for the benefit for us and the benefit for his individuality too.

Showed moments of brilliance last night, and when he wants to he can be one of our best players. But he hasn't shown that hunger consistently enough for me to justify hanging on to him. I would sell and re-invest money on an RW and CDM to replace Matic.

Of course he was our best midfielder as he had no comp but Bruno came in and comfortably took that top spot! Very few people will argue with this except die hard Pogba fans. Bruno came in and took his "freedom role" in the team because he does it better. Everyone said you have to let Pogba be free of responsibility and just use his attacking gifts, but I never felt he was a specialist attacking midfielder or could justify that freedom.

I hate making this a Bruno vs Pogba thing. That said, I don't recall Pogba ever winning the player of the month awards as much as Bruno has in 2020. Maybe the league is biased towards Bruno or the league just doesn't think Paul delivered Bruno's level of performance/impact for similar sustained periods. Most can see that we wanted Pogba to have the impact that Bruno is having.

Yeah that's why their price tags and expectations were what they were.
You should know by now that performance should not be judged by price tag. Let alone the fact that Pogba's price tag is from 2016 and outdated. Almost every statistic and accolade/award would indicate that Bruno is in fact the better player of the two currently.

With that said, I like Pogba as a footballer and part of me hopes we can come to an agreement with him, but his agent's disrespectful comments over the years have made that very unlikely.

As soon as people realise he's not a match winner nor an assist king, they'll realise how much he does under the radar every game. People get stressed out when he doesn't score 15 a season or assist every week.

He he operates very well, knits things together, provides the rest of the team with the platform to create. His issue is he cost £80 odd million and for some reason, fans love to obsess over price tags. That, and his agent of course. But agent and fee aside, the player Paul Pogba, is top level.

I just don't trust him over a long period of games, as there can be a lapse of concentration against top opposition.

It's the opposite in fact. Most here are more annoyed with him losing the ball cheaply in dangerous area of jogging off the ball while in defensive situation. Not many here seem concerned at all about him not scoring or assisting when he plays poorly.

The player of the month award has a lot to do with the role that you play like almost every other award. Attacking players are more likely to win them because there is an emphasis put on raw statistics such as goals and assists. The only none scoring/assisting player that has won it in the last 4 years is Van Dijk.

True and Pogba isn't a defender. Nor is he dominating player nor a player who controls a game and thus his main places to excel are going to be attacking output like his assist yesterday.

Pogba is obviously a touchy subject for many. Apologies to those who wanted stats or facts to "prove" pogba is a better player than bruno, I politely decline. You are free to think Bruno is better. Paul Pogba at his peak is the best midfielder in the world for me. No other midfielder has his combination of shooting, passing, dribbling, strength, vision, touch. He falls short in the defensive side of his game and it is a shame that he's been asked to play mainly as one of two holding midfielders to help protect our slow cbs but it is what it is. Would be really interesting to see what a modern progressive coach could/would get out of pogba. .

Only if other midfielders aren't at their peak because Pogba is way too inconsistent and flawed to be the best in the world.
